The Wedge Overlook is an ideal starting point for exploring the northern San Rafael Swell. This often-overlooked viewpoint and campground offers a panoramic view of the Little Grand Canyon, a 14-mile gorge carved by the San Rafael River. This 1,000-foot-deep canyon features towering sandstone cliffs overlooking a valley filled with cottonwoods, rabbit brush, and greasewood. From the overlook, you can also see Sids Mountain, Assembly Hall Peak, and the highest point in the Swell, Window Blind Peak.
Though not as famous or large as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Little Grand Canyon provides equally stunning views on a smaller scale.
