You could literally see the physical pain it caused him to get down to her level and know he'd have to get back up, but he did it to not talk down at her. That's sacrificing one's self for another. He made sure no aspect of that interact would be unpleasant in the least for her. When he was getting up, for a moment, I wondered if he'd be able to without help.

For years my husband has been mistaken for Santa. He's really a big ol biker but he makes an excellent Santa for little kids who think they just had the experience of a lifetime running into Santa while out shopping. Big white beard, white hair, and a big round belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly. After Halloween until a little after Christmas every year you would think he is a major celebrity. He has to give hugs, listen to what is on their Christmas lists, and has pictures taken with random kids by their mothers every time he goes out. He has even had parents buy his dinner while dining out because he takes the time everytime to talk to every child who thinks they are talking to the real Santa . He says it's fun to give the kids a moment of magic. Kids get so few of those moments these days he is so happy to be one that can give them a memory most remember for their whole lives.

When my kids were about this age we went out to dinner. At a table next to us the elderly gentlemen greatly looked the image of Santa. The kids peeked at him throughout the meal. Then asked if they could say hi. That elderly gentleman's face lit up when they went over to his table & he played the role so well we knew he'd done it countless times. My kids are in their late 30s now & have never forgotten that day.

Went on holiday with my family last week and my dad was also called Santa by a kid haha, fun little interaction. My dad says the kid mumbled something that sounded like “Santa” but other than that, the kid didn’t talk to him but just stared at him with a little grin as his parents walked him away lol.

Rock on! Him preserving her Santa image was spectacular. I would have bought him lunch anywhere he wanted. This is what CHARACTER is all about.

I think she made his day as much as he made hers. Loved this!

That's so true. I get small children coming up to me as we approach the holidays and it truly is uplifting. I did notice this gentleman had difficulty kneeling like he did which fills my heart. I look like a skinny Santa and don't have any difficulty crouching or kneeling so I can appreciate someone who had to try to kneel for her.

To see the Spirit of Christmas embodied so perfectly is a humbling thing. It also lets you believe that there really is magic in the World even if you only think of yourself as a crusty old fussbudget. I'm not the one crying, YOU are! 🥺

What a genuine experience for this little girl. Just him crouching down and making a better connection with this little one makes a big difference. As a short child, I can remember when adults would speak with me, the ones who bent down were the ones who made the biggest impact. This made my day.

My father had a full beard and long hair, all grey/white. We were at the resort's indoor pool and jacuzzi swimming at Christmas and this little girl and boy saw my folks and they just knew that this was Santa and Mrs. Claus. My folks had careers in education and carefully played along. I can only imagine how much this meant to those kids- to have come "up north" on a vacation filled with family and holiday spirit. Bless this man for his wonderful spirit and giving this child the time and memories to last a lifetime!

I'm 65 years old and I still have santa in my heart. The spirit of Christmas lives forever. Thank you santa for talking with this little girl.

This happened to my son when he was about 5. He was so excited to see Santa in the middle of summer in Texas of all places. The man was sweet enough to go along with it. My son is now a man with his own child. Thank you random Mr Santa who ever you are.

If I had been a man I would have never been allowed. I know that a Granddaddy can love a baby just as much as Grandma does. I feel bad for the guys on this issue.

I remember when I was a little girl, I saw an old man walking around in December and, in my eyes, he looked very much like Santa. So I said: Santa? And that man did 🤫 and then smiled at me. I never forgot it, and I am sure this little girl won't either! Such a magical time.

Hero’s don’t wear capes. This most probably made his day as much as it made the little girls day. It’s people like this that deserve recognition. No hesitation in coming down to her level. My mom told me that the people dressed as santa in the mall work for Santa when I was little, that they are his helpers (obviously inspired by home alone which further cemented the belief). If I saw this guy, I would have felt so honored to meet the real deal.

If a man was to talk to a child like this in the UK then the parent, relatives, onlookers and even the child would shout out about abuse. That’s what the UK has come to. Nobody will help a lost or distressed child any more, including teachers etc, for fear of accusations that are totally untrue but stated for fame and compensation payouts. I will talk to anyone, anywhere, any time but it’s terrible what people accuse others of nowadays.
