Robbe McCoury must be one of the most underrated banjo players there is !!! He is an Awsome banjo player, he should be on the top of the pile of banjo pickers.

Robbie is an amazing banjo player, I was lucky enough to get to learn from him and play with him at the Delfest Academy. Watch him rocking back and forth for his backup to try and soften his sound when they are singing or someone else is playing. Perfect choreography, but most are familiar with that who know the Del McCoury Band well. :) Awesome video, Ronnie Bowman is the man too, just ask him about North Carolina.... A-maz-ing!

Hey Marcel, I could name you several dozen super 5-string pickers,...and there wouldn't be an iota of difference in them, Robbie would be in that #, if there is ANY difference in top-ranked banjoists, it is a 'micro' amount, or an immeasurable amount !...that can't be detected by the "lay" person!

Ronnie is a great singer. But he should have his wife sit down. Its embarrassing to watch and listen to. IMO he should have staye with LRB.

i like the way mccoury plays, but there is nobody even close to Bela Fleck. Just like there is no dobro player even in the same geosphere as jerry douglas. they're just that much better than the rest.
