By the way, in real life, when baby birds do this, they poop gets picked up by their parents AND EATEN BY THEM! Young birds don't digest their food all the way, so this way the parents supplement their own diet!

Fun fact: the reason he does this is because usually the parents would take the poop and carry it far away, so there's no poop around the nest. If there was poop below the nest a predator (such as a cat) would easily notice that there's a nest there and attack it. So he is helping his parents to take away his poop so that a cat doesn't eat them all.

I LOVE your videos. I have several species nesting around my property, and when spring storms blow them out of their nests too early, I hand raise them until they're ready to release. I wish I could hatch ducklings and other chicks to have as little friends but I can't be home with them as much as they would need. Keep up with the videos! You are a like minded and spirited human. Not a lot of us out there.💜💙💛

Most baby song birds do this and the parents pick it up right away and often eat it. The food the little chicks eat doesn't get digested all the way, so it's actually a very good food supplement for the parents.

I love how they do this 😂 Ducks do it too, it was helpful when Wobbles was a wee fuzzbutt. I always knew when I needed to pick him up and hold his bum over the brooder when we were snuggling.

Oh Dear God. I can't remember ever watching a little bird poo in a video before and laughing my ass off at it. That said, nice acrobatics my feathery friend.
