This a load reduction relay. It safely gives the starter priority current (high draw) on start ups. If this relay sticks it will lead to hard starting on TDis.

Hello, I have a problem on my GOLF 5, 1.9 tdi, sometimes it starts at once, sometimes after 3 or 4 times (hot or cold), I changed the battery, I checked the glow plugs, I checked the starter, and I even went to the diagnostic kit and I have no faults, but I have no idea where the problem comes from. Can you help me please ?

ECM was not detected during scan in my Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI ALH 2005. There was a short circuit and I replaced it with a used ECM(IMMO deleted). Now, the ECM is detected by scanner and DTC codes are displayed but the CEL is not ON with ignition ON. Car is starting. CEL was glowing with the old ECM and it was starting in single crank but the scanner count not read DTC.

My 1.9TDI Seat Leon is having issues to start every now and then. Took it to the local garage and the guy there told me that glow plugs are irrelevant for Portugal climate since its never too cold. Also thecar is park in garage. Injectors showing healthy values.. I mean... i trust this mechanic but could he be wrong?

dpf pressure sensor ...it will need changing then put back on vag system at garage to reset all faults then fill car up and take for 40mins drive on motorway changing gears from 6 to 5 5 to 4 then again when in top gears so rpms and exhaust system can warm up then all lights will go out

My golf tdi will not start and appears to be doing very similar as your video shows here.. I have just ordered a new relay from eBay as I have no other clue as to what it could be. My mechanic has been out and he's not sure with out diagnostics. Keeping my fingers crossed it is this🤞 will let you know as it was fine when I drive it home night before. Somehow came across your video while trialling other things

Sundeep Singh it turned out to be the manifold flap was stuck... Because my bottom hose came loose recently from the intercooler I had both replaced. My mechanic said while I was driving it with this problem most likely sucked up alot of crap that made it stick. There was lots of gunk that we cleaned out with brake cleaner and now it works again. Although diagnostics is showing mass air flow sensor issue and still not running 100%. Cost me a small fortune recently hoping no more issues until I've restored my bank balance then I'll get a new sensor sorted 😕

Current is directly supplied from alternator + terminal located on the electric box. Check continuty from terminal to relay power slot.

Hi! My golf 5, 1.9 tdi from 2004 have same problem, when esp martor is ON and the plugs martor don t appear, the car don t start. But in the box I have 3 relays (433,433,485), I tested the relays with the multimeter and they are ok. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM JUST WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT. Please help me.

Multimeter is not a reliable way for checking relays. You can check only inner circuit but you can not verify circuit breaker with multimeter.

I have same problem, the light on dash board same as in your video, but my relay is plugged and relay is fine, but car not starting

Relay 100: Load reduction relay. It gives way to allow priority amps to the starter on ignition.

I have a 2.0 TDI BMM, same engine as this just has a 6 speed gearbox, goes into limp mode high revs no fault codes when egr unplug drives better but goes in limp, but I have changed egr and still went into limp 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️, had turbo checked came bk all good if anyone has and idea let me knowwww ASAP
