Yes to lithium! The weight advantage alone is amazing. As long as you don't have to charge them in sub freezing temperatures....which is not a problem for you...it is all upside!

Absolutely right, mate, lithium is awesome. Just having most the stated amps (unlike AGM, Lead, etc.) means days more camping without need for charging. Of course your roof top solar helps but when camped in the shade for a few days, lithium means not having to get the solar blanket out and hoping the cable is long enough to reach a sunny spot 🤙

One needs a BIG lithium battery if you want to have a heavy current drain over a longer period. My 200 amp hour lithium allows a max sustained draw of 100amps. For 150 Amps sustained draw, such as a large air fryer or electric stove, one needs at least 300 ampere hours. A couple of grands worth with the inverter. Another trick if using an inverter is to have two switches for it, one through a fifty watt headlamp bulb to the inverter, so as not to shut down the lithium battery's internal management system which does not like the sudden massive draw as the capacitors charge if you just hook it up directly. Turn on switch number one--a light duty switch toggle or push and hold button to a 20 amp relay is fine--bulb will light up. After a little while the bulb will begin to dim and then go out as the current stops when the capacitors are full, and then and only then you turn on the main switch which has to carry one hundred and fifty to 200 amps maximum load--and may require a mercury relay.

Have you seen the new "mini" batteries that just hit the market? They are LFP (LiFePO4) batteries, but they're using compressed pouch cells instead of prismatic. This means the same 100AH worth of capacity is coming in at just under 9kg. You could could fit two of them in the same space, giving you basically 200AH worth of capacity, at about 17.5kg.

Do you have to change the AC to DC charger? Will it still charge from the car? And solar panels? These are some of the problems that come up from changing from Lead Acid to Lithium. If a lithium battery goes flat it becomes a short circuit which can damage your chargers.

Hello, I am a lithium battery manufacturer from China. We mainly produce and export lithium batteries for RVs, with product voltages of 12V, 24V, and 48V. The battery capacity is available in single units of 100AH, 200AH, 300AH, and can be used in parallel. A single battery comes with a Bluetooth monitoring app, and GPS modules can also be customized according to customer needs. The continuous current of the BMS protection board can reach 250A, but we suggest that the battery discharge current should not exceed 1C. I hope to have the opportunity to serve you.
