Thanks for the help . This week it's exam week , wich is obiously important. So thumps up🖒. I have a grave feeling,due to this video, I will get 40 out of 40 or slightly under.Do some more videos because I love them😄.

Where the questions difficult

OMG I passed today, I wish they showed scores because I think I got 100% trust me, the lit test is pretty easy. the spelling part had words like *variant, appreciate, parliament* (ps,. the lady actually said PAR-LI-A-MENT) HA!, the hardest part was the last part only because I got a very long passage to read)

I went for A for this answer. I wish he choose the answers and we can see at the end the results. The English grammar is very tricky sometimes and confusing

Thank you so much ! I took your advice and passed first tryyyyy ! For anyone wondering what I did, I watched this video and took detailed notes and tips for each section. I learned all the spellings (link in his description box) and then did all 4 literacy practice tests that are listed on the government department for education website. After doing the first practice test I didn't do the second until I worked on all of my weak areas from the first. After that I was achieving above 70% in the last 3 practise tests. My actual test had spellings such as, environmentally, irrelevant governmental, deterrent, preference... The comprehension was a bit tricky but my advice would be to read the statement and then try and find it in the text one by one and be patient ! If you have any Q's let me know ! I passed my Numeracy first try too thanks to these videos !!!!

​@@sambrina06 Thankyou ! The way tackled revision for the Numeracy Test was different as its the more trickier subject in my opinion out of the two. QTS maths tutor (thisss youtube account) has 4 Numeracy test videos. They consist of practice questions followed by solutions. I went ahead and clicked the first video, listened to the question...paused the video and had a go at it myself before pressing play and watching the solution part of it. I did this for the first 2 videos and then created multiple sheets that included all the methods and ways in which you would tackle each type of question. E.g. 'Percentage Questions - you could be asked to calculate the percentage of something and that's it, or you could be asked to calculate the percentage decrease or increase of a value and here is how you do it' so I would write down the method and learn it. So I did this for the first 2 numeracy videos and then worked on my weaker areas using other youtube videos e.g. 'how to do short division', 'QTS numeracy mental arithmetic test quick tricks and tips' and other videos along the same line. Once I had gathered a large bunch of notes (these notes also included how to read and tackle the graphical questions too) I revised them and attempted the third Numeracy test and solutions video. I then went on the department for education website and tackled the first practice paper and got 35%. Keep in mind I stupidly booked my test one and a half weeks before I was due to sit them. This meant I was putting a lot of pressure on myself but made me just buckle up and grafttt every single day till like 2am and get on with it because I didn't have much time. I then tackled the second online paper and got 78% this was only because a lot of the questions were the same as some in the QTS tutor videos so I just didn't see the point in doing the rest and clearly the 78% was therefore not a true representation of what I would have gotten. However it did mean that I musttt have done some effective revision. So then I decided to keep going over, revising and practising all my little method notes. I payed close attention to the mental arithmetic section and quick and easy methods I could use and made sure I knew how to read graphs. The day of the exams- so I sat my numeracy an hour after my literacy and I was extremely tired because I stupidly went to sleep at 2am the night before (don't do that). During the practice question I quickly wrote down my 6,7 and 8 times table on the top of my whiteboard, this helped ALOTTTT with the mental part. I ended up missing the first 2 mental arithmetic questions because I couldn't keep up and then got myself together for the rest. The first few written questions were really weird and i'm sure I got them wrong but then you start to relax and get into it. You have to be patient with each question because you want to try and guarantee yourself the mark. There is no point panicking and pressing 'next, next, next' instead, just have a go. At the end of the test I was sure I fcked it but I guess this was because the questions were new but because of my consistent practice I knew how to tackle the questions and to my surprise I ended up passing. I know this is unnecessarily long but I hope it helps anyways. Hopefully you have given yourself more than one and a half weeks to revise. I hope you pass on your first attempts too ! And to anyone reading this if you don't pass on your first attempt, it is NOT the end of the world. You just have to dust yourself off and try again. You've got this !!! Good Luck.

Do you think one full day of revision enough for both tests? I had a go on the online tests long before but I was failing all the time, sometimes from couple of marks.

@@mervenurr2023 I mean when I did my first online maths practise test on the government website i got 35% and learned from my mistakes before tackling the second practise paper. So what i will say is that I found the online tests were harder than the real one hence why I passed the first time for both in the actual and performed more poorly in the online practise ones. You need to check your weak areas and work on those instead of wasting time on stuff you are already confident with. Nerves play a huge role in the actual test too so be sure to stay calm. However the literacy one I learned a lot from the practise tests as mentioned previously because after not doing great on the first practise test I wrote notes on where i was going wrong and what I had to work on that way you are not going to make that same mistake in the actual test and gain those couple of marks that you seem to be losing in attempting the practise tests. In regards to your question... I do think one full day of grafting is effective but ONLY if you are somewhat confident with the concepts and are just going to be working on perfecting and practise. GOOD LUCK :)

Dee H welldone for passing !!! Went to do mine today (lit) and I failed by 3 marks, the spellings were really hard. The only easy one was independently but now I’m learning all of the harder spellings from the qts spelling link. Also, was your NUMERACY exam similar to the one on the gov website? I’ve head people saying the actual exam has extra things in & this has scared me so much! (& that the graph bit are all diff in the actual test) hope this isn’t true x

Great vid,👍 but wouldn't you also put a comma after *kids flossing in the classroom, like the backpack kid ....* ? It just sounds like there should be a comma there but that would bring the errors up to 16....so is it always 15 errors that are to be found? _Also, has there ever been an instance when we had to remove punctuation that was initially there and replace it with another?_ Thanks

*The numeracy test was much trickier and I actually thought I failed I probably got 1 mark just above the failure line (THANK GOD!).* _the thing about the test is that no matter how much you study the issue that affects most is the TIME!,_ especially that mental math part, whooo, I missed the first two questions because the time went so fast plus I missed the last one as well because of it automatically just ends

*also with the grammar section task B, that second question was so weird..why start the sentence in the past tense* .. _your child has worked very hard.................._ but then choose answer B.. which ends in a present tense format _and make use of_ ...sounds so unnatural to me pLUS the third one, *I mean it's "an" appropriate not a appropriate so I wouldn't pick B* this is driving me nuts. I would really like another voice on this, am I the only one that sees these.

sorry, i don't remember exactly what was asked, but they are the same kind questions you will find here practice.skillstestbooking.com/ and on the videos in this youtube channel. A list of everything you need to revise is here sta.education.gov.uk/professional-skills-tests/numeracy-skills-tests if you feel like you may have forgotten how to do certain things from this list, write them down and take a look here kzread.info this guy is great. I spent 4 hours a day for 5 days practising before the test. i would suggest start revising now to be more prepared. use the practice test papers practice.skillstestbooking.com/ when you feel ready and see what you can brush up on. take notes. use these videos from QTS Maths Tutor. i paused the videos at the questions, tried my method on a notepad, and saw if i got the same answer in under 18 seconds and made note of what to change and try next time. numeracy is hard if you haven't been practising. mental maths can be very hard because of the timer. this was my major weak point. you must also be careful to pay attention to detail of the questions. sometimes they will say things like 'give your answer to 2 decimal places' or 'as a fraction' or 'here's a fraction who DID do something. what fraction did NOT do something? give your answer as a PERCENTAGE'. they're very good at catching people out with these details in questions which are easily missed when listening through headphones (personally speaking). don't forget about the things you will need at the test centre, 2 forms of ID and proof that you are to do teacher training. i saw people turned away at the test centre not having the correct forms of ID, which are on the sta website above. they didn't give me a pen and paper but they gave me a whiteboard and whiteboard pen. they only let you in with 1 of your IDs and nothing else on you. everything else is locked away in a locker. i also don't know my results. they never told me. just that i passed. by how much, i will never know i hoped this information helped. good luck!

google 'commonly misspelt words in the English language' but be careful not to get results for American English. a list of what you need to revise is here for literacy: sta.education.gov.uk/professional-skills-tests/literacy-skills-tests. not a great tip but it's what worked for me: use your best knowledge on punctuation and grammar sections. see what looks and sounds right to you. be careful with the details of the punctuation task. you only get 15 choices. the grammar section will always be for a formal text. use the process of elimination for the grammar section as is showed in this video. for the comprehension task, I had a lot of time, so I read the article 3 to 4 times before answering any questions. i remember that the grammar task consisted of some multiple choice questions to help construct a piece of text. the comprehension task asked to read the text and then match some statements with a key they gave you eg, if this statement is supported by the text drag and drop 'S' next to the statement, implied by the text, drag and drop 'IC', not explicity implied, or completely unsupported by the text etc. This is what i'm getting from my memory anyway. they will also ask you some true or false statements. I hope this helps. the website says the tests aren't identical to each other, but they will be similar. good luck!
