Listen To 1st Train Of 2023 Growl Up Batavia Hill, Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Crossing Flood Bridge
Listen To This Train Growl Up A Steep Hill! Is That Awesome Or What?! Railroad Crossing Gate Malfunction At 9:30 & Train Crosses Big Trestle Over Flooded Valley! This is the first train of the year for Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET and is Part 2. I Chase the train through Batavia, Ohio all the way to Sardinia, Ohio. In Part 1 we saw the train in Newtown and Milford, Ohio.
We see the rusty rail before and after the train. This is the first train for 2023 on the Norfolk Southern Peavine Line which is leased to CCET. Listen to the train climb Batavia Hill and cross Summit Road railroad crossing. We see Afton Yard and after the train switches the yard and switches Huhtamaki, we see the train come into Mount Orab, Ohio. I did not notice the crossing gate malfunction until after I put this video together. Notice at 9:30 in the video that the gate on the left stays up until after the locomotive is across the road, then it goes down.
We also see the train cross over White Oak Creek and come through Sardinia. It stopped on the east side of Sardinia and resumed its trip the following day. We see the Sardinia Wye with the locomotives and railroad cars stored there. Eventually, both locomotives made it to Plum Run where they picked up 14 loaded hopper cars of rock and returned. I did film some of that also but most of the return trip was at night due to a problem at Lawshe at the base of the hill on a steep curve.
Filmed in 1080p with 60fps on Tuesday, January 3, 2023CE
Thanks for watching! If you have time, please watch another video of mine to help keep my channel going. Every view helps support my channel. Viewing time helps pay for gas, motels, rental cars etc. I have a list of places that I plan on filming so watch another video of mine if you have the time.

Your night time videos are almost always good, so low light isn't a problem..this one didn't even seem dark when you were asking about it. Great video JT! 🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍

I rarely miss a day!
The dark videos are no problem. They actually sharpen the images . The great RR photography is mostly shot in black and white. The bridge shot is excellent. However, you could shoot CCE at midnight, and I would love it 😀. Thanks for all your hard work.
When the weather is uncertain but you have a good subject or location a darker video helps capture something obscure so I think most subscribers will still appreciate it. That freight is the perfect example of a peddler train spotting all their box cars and then going to Afton yard and picking up several more covered hoppers plus the gon. By the way the left flasher at Mt Orab was working but you'll see that the gate on that side didn't lower until after the locomotive passed it. Hope Mr Dupps pond doesn't overflow
Happy new year everyone. Great video to start off the new year with cool shots of night action.

I remember seeing those glass insulators in antique shops years ago. They used to be pretty valuable, don't know about their value now. For a small railroad, CCET seems to do a pretty good job of keeping their track and equipment in good condition. Hope they can keep it up. Good video JT!

It is a constant challenge since they have 69 route miles of track to maintain.
CCET welcome in 2023. I wish you many and heavy trains in 2023. Thank you for the 2 Part from the first train in 2023. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven

I don't mind a little bit of dark in your videos sometimes. I like seeing the train lights and signals better. And it's cool when you've followed the same train around all day and you catch it at the end of the work day.

Love the dark or dusk videos.
Awesome video Brian I don't mind a little dark in your videos 😊
🚂Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! 💧👍🙏
Dark ones are good, bright sun shiny day ones are good, they are all good! Awesome catching the train, on the bridge, over the swollen creek!
Very much enjoyed this. Thank you for your dedication in bringing these trains into my home.
Again JT awesome video and watching enjoying and enjoy the side show too 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😃❤️ AWESOME VIDEO Jaw Tooth
We love all your videos ...just do them so they are easy for you and safe . Love the dusky style look .
Great video Jawtooth! Awesome shot of the train crossing the flooded river! I like a dark video every now and then, especially if its showing signal's. Thanks for sharing!

great USA train video ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You do good in sunlight or dark. I prefer the bright sunlight but I love trains no.matter what there contrast is. I enjoyed them and thanks for sharing with us.
Great video!
I'm happy to have video in any light. I like sunshine the best.
I honestly don't think that the low light shots are as problematic as you think they are. Unless the light is completely gone, the videos are still viewable. Still, good light is always better.
Keep it coming!
Those engines are growling, chugging, hissing and spitting. Great stuff.
Beautiful locomotives too AWESOME Jaw Tooth too
I live here in Williamsburg. It’s nice seeing you do these videos 😊 from Rusty Carter? Also love, shoestring hobo shoestring.
Great rail video!
I like your 'dark' videos, they have great atmosphere! I like the short train in that video too, could actually model one like that!! Another great video, Happy New Year from the UK, which also has a fair bit of flooding!! 😊
Great part two great short line action thanks Jaw tooth

Great Video Jaw Tooth Have a great weekend cheers sincerely Andrew Macintosh.
I like the overcast vids. Thanks!!
Great video. Wasn’t too dark and I really liked the different views of the peavine
Thanks for your video Jawthooth. Also Happy New Year from Fay and myself
I like your dark videos. Many great videos are shot with minimal lighting. It adds variety, in my opinion. So count my vote in favour of more evening/night videos, JT.
We lived up there several years and walked down to the tracks and creek all the time. Walked the tracks up and down.
Love the color scheme if the locos !!
Excellent video and what a flood JT!!!
Awesome!😊🎉❤
You have to take it as the opportunity arrives. Don’t always have a choice with lighting especially this time of year I ma ok with it and understand! Jeff
Amaaaazing vídeo my friend! Have a Nice weekend !

Ya know JT, you got me now looking at rail conditions for rust every time I cross over one!
I lived near Batavia. I went to grade school in Mt Carmel and graduated from Amelia in 1962. I miss the area.
Good chase JT. Enjoyed the ECR…thanks
When I was a kid, I’d walk the tracks near my home, and bust the glass insulators with rocks from the ballast. There were rarely any insulators left. It helped perfect my aim. That was back in the 1960’s.
Great video.
Check engine light could be as simple as a loose gas cap or needing a oil change, great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and get it scanned
Really cool video with all the flooding. I caught that trestle shot on your short yesterday. Excellent!
Awesome live action

Excellent video 😍😍
Great video sir!
Excellent 👍 video 👍📷
Can't wait when everything is looking lush and green again.
I like all the videos daylight or dark.
The yellow light at the left is the engine management warning light. You need to take it to a mechanic and plug the diagnostic machine in to say what is wrong then the same machine switches it off after the problem is fixed 👍❤️💛💚
The camera shows up more than you can see in the dimmer light. A first run for CCET? Neat! Cheers Jaw Tooth! Happy New Year!

Another great video JT. Light and shade is always good and if that is what it is like out on the rails then so be it. I think the CCET needs to put u on the payroll as their publicist with all the advertising u do for them 😉

Yeah, you do a good job in demonstrating the grade. It doesn't look like much to me, but then again I'm not hauling several tons of freight behind me.

very awesome hearing those engines doing their thing, CHUG CHUG CHUG. Those engineers must know you by now, do they often wave/signal at you? RE: the engine light in the dashboard - our Ram has that happen and turns out it's a sensor. Floods and Trains, oh my. :D I like all you videos, dark or sunshine or nighttime.
Good video jawtooth
