I like how people forget his mistakes and highlight Martinez's quality based on mediocrity. While people also only remember Maguire for his mistakes because he is English and playing for the most toxic club in the world.

I never had any doubts about his defensive and ballplaying abilities. But the confidence with which he makes challenges even in the box surprised me. And his press resistance is crazy, some of these clips had him looking like Frenkie de Jong.

Goodness, the defending and the range of those passes 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨. I can't believe anyone doubted him.

I just love how brave he is. Not afraid to butt in and get a bit nasty here and there. Like the old United legends.

He has it all, control, passing, vision, composure, aggression, positioning, toughness, attitude, intelligence, awarness, technical ability and bravery. He never panic's and although he's aggressive it's always controlled he doesn't just dive in! What a player! 🔥🔥🔥

@@steffan5104 there are certain attributes in which he's better than varane at like great awareness , good timing , ability to read the player's body language and figured out what he's gonna do , he's defensive play is slightly better than varane and is very good in build up play , he's the perfect replacement for Varane in the longer run , varane is at the tail end of his career and need someone worthy enough to take his place alongside Martinez and lead from the back and I can't think of anyone better than KMJ
