Literally bunch of kpop girls did the same you know, I didn't really familiar with kpop in general but because of this... I did some research ..there were so many from BOA to the new girl groups. It's funny to me I'm as (half) black but saw the other so called black people on KZread were so nitpicking especially they are Kpopers. Braids are a tradition of various cultures. We only know what is “recorded” in history. I wouldn’t concretely credit specific styles, to a SINGLE culture. I think the art of braiding & its significance, is global & ancient🌍⏳. I do agree on certain issues, regarding braids. The biggest of which, is the different treatment of black vs white, braid users. An African American child, is harassed for their intricate braids. But a Caucasian child, is praised. 🤬. Giuliana Rancic (white female) said, “smells like patchouli oil”. When Zendaya (black female), arrived with a beautiful, African American centralized hairstyle. But a light skin artist, is hailed as starting a “NEW TREND”🤦🏻‍♀️, I get it. I was bullied for my braids when I was a kid often. I’m not trying to insult anyone, this is just my personal opinion. The Kardashians claiming to have come up with the “cholo” look, for their new clothing line. Or using a certain hairstyle, that black girls have been using for ages. In order to monetize,3 & profit from the “trend”. Is insulting & most DEFINITELY, cultural APPROPRIATION. My mom used to do braids like these (minus the color change),when I was a kid. 2-3 thick braids, in a high ponytail😌. I am Mexican American, & braids are a central hairstyle, for my culture as well. During the 16th century, women would use braids to signal marital status, economical, & level of importance status. Further down, during the Mexican revolution, female soldiers used thick braids to hide small objects or important notes. Greeks, Native Americans, Vikings, etc. Some African & Native American cultures, used braids for spiritual purpose. Black slaves, used them to communicate messages. Braids are just one of the many things that are kinda universal🤷🏻‍♀️. Now Clothing, accessories, certain outfits, traditions, etc. Are things that have to be credited to specific cultures, & as such, should be carefully studied & respected🙅🏻‍♀️. What are you guy’s opinions on this matter. I would love to hear them. 😊

Literally just type this group "x group braids" there would photo of members who did braids.
