Yes… and no, I think because he didn’t talk they missed the opportunity to develop his relationship with Lisa in some moments, like when she talks about how much she misses her mother they could have bonded over the fact that he was pretty much the only person who knew exactly how she felt like because he lost his parents when he was little, I also would have liked to see some jokes about how he is a guy from the 1800’s in the 1980’s and he didn’t understand modern stuff that well yet, like Barnabas from “Dark Shadows”, but we didn’t get to see that the closest we got was that joke that he used to ride an old-fashioned bike. However if they make it a sequel (and they most likely will) I hope we get to see his character talking more like in the “Frankenstein” novel, the thing is in the movie from 1931 the creature couldn’t talk, but in the book he not only could talk but he would never shut up, he was always talking about his thoughts about life

It’s heavily implied Cole Sprouse’s character is Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley’s novel, but in this reality or version he is “the creature”, his tombstone was damaged but we could read “tein” by the end of it, his first life was around the time when Mary Shelley’s novel was being written, and that’s why the name of the movie is “Lisa Frankenstein” despite the protagonist’s name in the beginning being Lisa Swallows, because after they made love they began to consider themselves married and when she came back from the dead the same way he did she started using his surname so they can spend their new lives together

I swear, the whole time I was watching the movie I was just waiting for the reveal that LIsa's dad was the ax murder who killed Lisa's mom. The fact that he moved on so quickly seemed like a huge red flag to me. Maybe if he and Janet had just started dating after six months it would be less suspicious, but it's the fact that they got engaged and married so quickly after meeting that seemed off to me. Even when Taffy is telling the story her voice when she says that "they got engaged and married real quick" shows that she thought it was odd/surprising how fast it happened. I was 100% anticipating that Lisa's dad actually knew Janet while he was still married and killed Lisa's mom to be with her, waiting until a few months afterward to get together to seem less suspicious. Looking at the clip of the murder now, it does seem pretty evident the murderer is a different person. The murderer is clearly taller and slimmer than Lisa's dad with much fuller head of hair. However, I wouldn't surprised if Lisa's dad being the murderer being was an idea that was tossed around when developing the script. As things stand, I'm actually glad that wasn't the case. Taffy is such a sweetheart and it would be way to tragic if her only remaining family member was an ax murderer.😅

Actually Taffy did kinda explain why her mom and Lisa's dad got married quickly so him and Lisa could move on and have a new mom and sister. Imo I think that's a good excuse and it makes sense. @@RoseyVamp I personally disagree- but to each their own. I really was referring to general plot details: murderous teenage girl lead, the party scenes are similar, the murderous over protective kinda toxic bf. I can absolutely see some influence of Heathers in the film. Alex! I love that you are giving "Lisa Frankenstein" some much-needed attention and love, but the school literary magazine is NOT the same thing as the school newspaper! Literary magazine publishes fiction and poetry and the newspaper covers events that happen around the school. Literary mag/lit mag is creative fiction; school newspaper is reporting. So, Michael Trent is not the head of the newspaper: he's the head of the lit mag, as stated in the movie.

You don´t have to worry about anything because your mom has already been murdered!", and she dated Michael behind Lisa´s back and she didn´t even know who he was until Lisa told her she liked him, I mean if she really liked him then she should have told Lisa he was into her so she wouldn´t get high hopes and then ask her if it was of if she dated him, that´s what a good friend would do

This movie is so unhinged in all the right ways. I think what turned a lot of people off from this movie is the fact that this is clearly catered to women and femmes. Does that mean men can't enjoy it? Absolutely not. I see Alex has enjoyed it greatly because of the dark humor. The entire movie of Lisa Frankenstein is catered to the female gaze which has recently been more shown in media. It's how women and femmes view the world around them and in romance. If you notice in most movies like Weird Science, it's basically men making a hot woman for the men to gawk at constantly. Lisa Frankenstein, while the looks of the creature are shown, the devotion and true love he has for her is what makes her fall in love with him. He loves her for who she is. Even the "devil's tango" scene, while they don't show a lot, is super romantic and my God the way he looked at her in that scene, I was melting.

I don't think you can pin its theatrical box office failure on it being targeted at women. There are so many movies that's target audience are women that successes greatly. Fifty Shades of Grey, Twilight, the Notebook, Pride and Prejudice, most romance movies honestly. If I were to guess what the issue was it would be two things. One, the marketing for this movie was bad and barely existed. Two, it being romance AND a unhinged/weird movie combined. If it was just a romance, you'd easily have the stereotypical female audience flocking to it. But it has the weird and the horror so it turns that crowd off. And if it was just a weird horror movie then you'd have the horror fans coming in. But because it's a romance it turns them off. I love this movie a lot but I think it just falls into a very niche genre. So it failed in theaters

It infuriates me to no end that this movie bombed. We dont deserve nice things. This movie shot up to my top 20 movies of all time the second I saw it. I saw it 3 times in theaters. Yeah thats right. Three. It was so great to see something different for freaking once! Its hilarious its sweet its twisted its unique Not to mention that its beautiful to look at And Diablo Cody said that Lisa Frankenstein and Jennifer's Body take place in the same universe so we could get a Diablo Cody movie monsters universe if people would just grow some taste??? why dont people like this movie???

I wanted so badly to like it, but I just didn’t. They tried too hard to be campy and took it straight into cringe. It also was so slow going for quite awhile. I think I only genuinely enjoyed the final 20 minutes 😅
