Opening in the early 1940's, it served the Woodhaven, Queens area, as part of the replacement of grade-level tracks, to a more modern, underground system on Atlantic Avenue.
Distincively below the Rockaway Beach Branch of LIRR, Woodhaven was used as a transfer point between the two branches, aswell a track connection between the two branches, which is now permanently closed.
After the closure of the Rockaway Beach Branch, Woodhaven followed after, closing its doors in 1976.
