Liquid Nitrogen Explosion - Cool Science Experiment
Steve Spangler surprised meteorologist Becky Ditchfield with an in-studio demonstration of his liquid nitrogen explosion. The reaction on her face is priceless.
About Steve Spangler…
Steve Spangler is a celebrity teacher, science toy designer, speaker, author and an Emmy award-winning television personality. Spangler is probably best known for his Mentos and Diet Coke geyser experiment that went viral in. Spangler is the founder of www.SteveSpanglerScience.com, a Denver-based company specializing in the creation of science toys, classroom science demonstrations, teacher resources and home for Spangler's popular science experiment archive and video collection. Spangler is a frequent guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and Denver 9 News where he takes classroom science experiments to the extreme. What makes him think I'm not going to try this at home? Lol
I love the abandon with which the man pours liquid nitrogen; like an arsonist pouring gasoline.
I'm on the science part of KZread again...
Being a chemist and working in a lab, I can tell you from experience that it will not cause irreversible damage if it comes in contact with your skin for a quick period of time. Because the nitrogen is at 77 degree Kelvin, and you body temp is around 310 degree K, there is a large temp difference. This temp difference will cause the nitrogen to go into a gas but this gas that is around your skin also insulates you from the actual liquid nitrogen. Same thing with putting water on a hot grill.
Love this guy.
The genuine wonder and fun these people have make me immeasurably happy
I could just keep watching that part all day long, AWSOME!
2:31
That was AWESOME
crazy! look how nonchalantly he is handling the liquid nitrogen!
That was one of the best things I've ever seen!
Soooo cool!
Awesome!
You should do more of those
That is so awesome
wow that just made watching news even more entertaining!
Thats incredible
so cool!!!!!
People who explain it are total but cool needs
that is so awesome might do this for science fair
The final cloud is really cool.
my town needs a steve spangler
Cool!!!
Omg, this is awsomeeeee!!! :3
i think this stuff is way more cool then the big science project people do!
That was so cool! xD
awsome
omg awesome!!! :) i need it!
awsomeness
thats so cool
truthfully i didnt think i would like science and 100 steve spanglers videos later i subscribed
COOL!
And that's how steve sprangler simulated heaven....
that's so cool
that is epic.
this is beast
I seem to fall down the chair with a start because of the exploration sound at the end :P
lol that was sick ok, ready? three, two, one, pffft!!! epic.
GIANT EXPLOSION!!!!
I love how there's actually an audible POOF when he drops in the water :D .
Cool dude you are the best. ! :)
I want a cloud!!!!!
lol the news anchors @2:49 are like "is that science guy here again?"
I'm totally trying this at home! lol
Weather Forecast for INSIDE the studio: Explosive Cloudiness with a chance of Drizzle.
its really good for Halloween
i tried it at home and it was very cool
I always use it for my escapes
Cool
YAY! Nitrogen Flashbang! :D
wow thats petty cool
2:32 is AWESOME
That guy is CRAZY!!!!
hey, Steve, since you mentioned food coloring, have you ever tried this with food coloring? if you put some in the water before you poured it, would you get a colored cloud?
where do u get liquid nitrogen from?
what's the temperature of the liquid that flies out of the explosion? liquid nitrogen is gonna be really cold right? and you have that hot water that's getting poured in.
Steve I has a question where u that liquid from ?
Three...two...one...BOOM! Just crapped my pants.
2:31 and i can hear the "BOOM" but no smoke was out yet~
I WANNA TRY THIS AT HOME
2:30 Is the most awesome thing I have ever seen
where can i buy the stuffs to do it
two drops of food coloring is good but 40 is AWESOME
"here u go very very nice" "hmmm..thank youu..i cant see" hahahha
How did it go?
I can finally feel like a pegasus
Does anyone know where to get liquid nitrogen from? please help me! i need it for my experiment.
Wow
that is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can that use as escape plan for people who are in big trouble like people who have bad problems
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!!!!!!
I can just see a weather reporter predicting a clear sunny day when her part of the studio fills up with a nitrogen cloud from this experiment...
what video was that in?
I've watched him on 9-news before!
can anyone tell me where to get liquid nitrogen from? please i reallly need it for my experiment!
"in answer to the question BELOW". like boss, man. like a boss.
I love that "Poof" sound it makes.
COOL .... :D
@BalloonCreations09 excellent cool white smokey green yellow red blue orange (you get the point) we know a lot of adjectives, we just don't use them very often
BOOM
where do i get that
omfg it's the "Will it blend" guy!
It pretty much freezes anything it touches, but when nitrogen freezes "chemical freezing" its pretty much like in the cartoons where you can push someone over and they shatter like glass. So, in essence your throat, and stomach would be so cold that they actually started burning (dissolving)... then you'd die... :)
yes steve its awesome- we heard u
liquid nitrogen is actually pretty easy to get where I live, yes you have to go to a place that can actually store it but you can get liquid nitrogen from them if they have it "instock"
where can you get liquid nitrogen?
I have a question about liquid nitrogen. What if someone was bleeding to death like, from a lost limb? what if you dip the stump into the nitrogen? Would it stop the blood or would it make things worse?
wow
lol thats exactly what i was thinking.
love this part right here 2:29 totly cool
they should have had a guy dressed as a ninja run in after the smoke poofed up
Imagine the forecast: -The weather is a little bit cloudy today!
2:33 the lady goes: Ahaaahaaaa oh shi-
Where i can buy that thing??? :OOO
2:29 super cool
your inner organs freeze so cold you would die.
you can get it in a paintball store because when u refill ur cans they sometimes use liquid nitrogen
isnt that the coolest thing youve ever seen?! every time....
Kinda like putting an ice cube in water, but colder...
i wish steve spangler was my science teacher
DAYUM!!!! @ 2:31
