Lippan Kaam - Kutch
'Lippan Kaam - Kutch' is a Design Resource from IDC, IIT Bombay. The above video shows the process of Mud and Mirror work. Mud and mirror work also known as Lippan-Kaam is a traditional mural craft of Kutch. It is also called Chittar Kaam. Its origins are not known even though various communities in Kutch do Mud-Relief-Work and have their own distinct style. The artists do not use any kind of sketch or markings for reference.

I did some Lippan Kaam earlier today in a art workshop in the UK! It was so nice to get to learn more about this form of traditional Gujarati art. Makes me sad that people don't want to learn as much nowadays. I don't think these beautful traditions should die
