LIONS interrupt mans morning coffee routine FULL STORY
Let's hear from Dylan Panos himself:
WHAT IS BHEJANE NATURE TRAINING? We are a Nature Guide Training company, and we train students to become professionally qualified Nature Guides, Trails Guides, and Marine Guides in Southern Africa. We offer the well-known FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) set of qualifications.
Interview with Dylan Panos:
What were your initial thoughts when you woke up to find the lions? Did the noise wake you or did you walk into the kitchen and notice them?
We woke up early in the morning with a group of 8 lions moving through camp. They were very vocal, so we were all well aware of their presence just outside our tents. The students were all safely escorted to the Game Viewing vehicle to drive around camp and to see the lions. The lions moved through the camp ( we also have footage of this if needed), and once they moved to behind the Kitchen building we could no longer see them. Dylan at this point moved around to the kitchen to see where they went while the students were still safe with instructor Emilio van Dyk in the vehicle. As he approached the building he saw the male through the mesh covering and realized that the female was lying just below the wall close to the building as well.
Were you frightened? Please elaborate on why or why not.
I was not frightened - I am after all trained to live and work around these animals, but I was very cautious - one would never approach mating lions since they are prone to showing aggression - however, we did want to encourage them to move off for the safety of the camp and to gain access to the kitchen obviously.
Some comments on Facebook indicate the windows are only covered in wire mesh no glass is that correct? Is there a special reason for this?
Yes, it is an open building as you will see in some of the other clips - there are no doors and the windows have only mesh covering. This is just because it is a rustic bush camp and we try to make do with minimum infrastructure there. We are all aware that the camp is open and everyone knows to be on guard and have good situational awareness at all times - this is after all what the students are training for, to be able to take their guests eventually into unspoiled wild areas - so to know how to do this safely, they must be able to live in such open camps, and know how to behave if an animal encounter does occur.
Did you get your coffee lol?! Yes - definitely got a nice cup of coffee!!

About Everseen Africa Lion Seekers
Pure passion and dedication brought us to this point and we decided it's time to share the most iconic sightings in Africa with our followers. We are an ethical Safari company that always strives to give back to the environment and help people to be closer to animals. The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Wildlife Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in South Africa, Keyna, Botswana, or any other African country are a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully, the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day. Make sure to subscribe and enable ALL notifications!

I love the rustic look... In my opinion that's a true feel, and experience of the bush. Listening with headphones really gives you an appreciation for the power behind the lions vocal strength... I can only imagine experiencing that in person. One day... One day... If I'm lucky. Very cool, thanks for sharing.

There was signs all over the place that said not to whistle at the Lions.. well this old lady said F that and kept whistling at the lions.. The big male who was perched on this rock like a king on his throne stood up looked right at the old lady and roared.. We were 30 feet away from them tops… It was like standing next to a person revving their Harley Motorcycle as hard as they could… I was right beside the old lady too.. she nearly fainted and I’m telling ya I about did too. You feel it in your heart.. Instant adrenaline rush and everything.. So much power

@@logicstone1661 You clearly don't understand how lions behave, these people know exactly what to expect, despite popular belief, lion don't just go around hunting people and people are not seen as prey by lions. If you watch clearly, the male lion is only displaying defensive behavior when the man closes distance, due to the female being in heat, the male is being extra protective. Lions don't charge at you straight unless you pause a real threat, and they first warn you by mock charges. You can see the man leaving his car on foot and approaching the kitchen slowly and carefully while the lion growls and does some fake charging, later he enters the kitchen and locks that metal door. Lions aint that stupid they're the most intelligent big cat, they don't go around looking for trouble, many who live near people are accustomed to seeing humans/tourists, some even humans us as we are two legged weird creatures to them. This man knows lion behaviour and body language and probably know that particular pride in the area, he's probable been there many times before.

When the students showed up in an open vehicle, the words, "Meals on wheels" came to mind! Genuinely though, this all seems like a very dangerous situation to me, with lions wandering in and out of the buildings and all. One wrong move could surely end in tragedy.

@@lovely12660 I just re-watched the video after seeing your comment, and I totally agree, even if they are armed it wouldn't make much difference. And I get the impression, from reading the description, that they are not armed. I get what the guy is trying to do with the training of students etc, but he needs to at least protect the camp buildings with doors etc. Otherwise it is only a matter of time until one or more students die here after dropping their guard for a moment, the wrong moment. I'm going to call this what it is, reckless endangerment of people's lives.

What I love about this footage is the absolute calm and respect you have for these lions and how that calmness is reflected back in the lions behaviour, even Romeo was pretty calm considering his reason for being there, thankfully dinner was not on his mind at the time.
