Lion vs Buffalo / Tanda Afrika Safari
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
On a recent Tanda Afrika Safari my guest and I were treated to an incredible experience.
WATCH TILL THE END FOR SOME EPIC PICTURES!
We got a call on the radio, telling us to come quick! Lions were hunting buffalo and we were only 5 minutes away from the action. We immediately readied ourselves and pointed the Land Cruiser in the direction of the lions, our guide Chilumba doing some excellent rally-style driving to get us there. As we arrived we were greeted by a less-than-impressed buffalo herd, and about 8 hungry lions. We barely arrived when a lioness charged into the herd and grabbed a young calf. It took only a few seconds for the herd to understand what had happened, and in no time they drove the lions back and reclaimed the calf. The calf was shaken and injured. I am not sure to what extent but we hoped it would be okay. See the pictures at the end of the video!
The lions kept the pressure up but a short while later a lioness took the force of a buffalo bull. The bull came straight at her and the terrain she was on, a dried wallow with many deep ruts created by elephants as it was drying, was too tough for her to get turned around fast enough. Before she knew it the buffalo was right onto her, and sent her flying into the heavens. Fortunately, he did not press the attack all the way through, and the biggest injury she sustained was a bruised ego. See the pictures at the end of the video!
The lions tried a few more times but in the end, decided to leave the herd. They were tired, it was getting hot, and the defenses of this herd just proved to be too much on this particular day.
It is sightings and experiences like these that keep us coming back for more, and keep us visiting these places we love as often as possible. You can’t ever plan for something like this, only hope. At the end of the day, the more you go on safari, the luckier you will get.

*The lion's hunt for survival took an unexpected turn when it crossed paths with a fearless baboon, a reminder of the surprises nature holds*

The reserves usually have to take care of lions then they put on necklace to some guys to track and to know where are they.

@@mdc734 They have many organizations involved, these collars have been very helpful. There are prides that reached the brink of extinction, with a lioness, these collars helped to know the movement of lionesses and, trap areas, there was a pride that a lioness arrived, today there are 4 lionesses plus the alpha lioness. I like to follow Zambia and protection programs like ZCP.
My god
O risco que as leoas correm pra conseguir uma refeição é grande, pois a " refeição " corre e dar chifrada.
Why in the minute 2:0 show a lion with collar that’s weird right
Lion with necklace?? What kind of wildlife is that?
@rosiex2018

It's a tracking collar. Some wildlife reserves tag the animals to keep track of their Pride to better understand their movements for research purposes and to find them easily to assess their health. These Animals are still very much wild.

*The astonishing resilience of the buffalo in the face of a lion's attack was a clear testament to the strength and determination of prey animals*
