Linux Terminal Commands: Pipes and Redirection

You can use pipes and redirection from a Linux, Unix or macOS terminal to control where the output from a program goes. For pipes this means that the output becomes the input for another program. Whereas redirection allows you to send the output of a program to a file.

    Actually, DOS added pipes at some point. Microsoft is great at copying success. If you use the powershell they even have the ls command. But why use an impersonation of a great operating system when you can use the original for free?

    power shell terminal of windows is also very powerful... can do all the commands in it. And it is not copying, the terminal commands have become a general trend in all bash

    Why does youtube-dl 'somefburl' -g | vlc not work, but manually taking the output of ytdl and pasting it as an arg to vlc works?
