A bad past can be rehabilitated, but you're never going to completely get away from your past. You have to admit it, own it and accept that it is going to be part of how people assess you as a person. Do people really do that? I see people not wanting to be canceled because companies cancel sponsorships. What I don't understand is why they cancel sponsor to appease vocal minorities that might not even buy their products. I understand not wanting ti associate yourself with hate speech, racism and such, but most of the time the canceling is over something so minor or out of context I'm just amazed they continue doing that. Or companies trying to do games and series target at those vocal minority and the product flops. It's like they want to actually lose money just to make a point.

What I was saying was that context matters and even if they slipped a bad word regarding gays on an online game (a place where rage takes place), people just assume you are this monster for saying something once (most of the time others showing your line without context) and don't give you time to explain yourself.

Without that advertiser cosign doors stay shut. It doesn't matter if you have a million eyes on you, unless they're the ones paying you, which often isn't the case.
