@@potts7494 i dont think so. but i respect your opinion.. but i think theres missunderstading in common thing.. same GENRE doesnt mean listening to SAME album again and again.. i dont think meteora nad HT are completely same and secondly, i dont think HT album is rigid , neither Meteora. they were already changing styles during thsoe two albums.. simply i dont think that songs like battle symphony , burn it down, shadow of the day (i picked few from different albums..) suits their idea which they set at the beginnings OR even in transition album Minutes to mindnight. i respect the fact that chester mainly wanted to sing more purely, more handsomely and Mike was done rapping after rising tied . he never wanted to rap in linkin park career, he wanted to play guitar and piano, changed his hair to long style, dressed more like punk/rocker. those all are elements when they decided they want more money by hitting bigger spectrum of listeners and mainly girls.. bc girls around 20 25 who arent "rebels" NEVER listen to song like papercut or hit the floor.. those girls love Numb or one more light... so they have changed more and more after MTM and thousand suns was definite burial of one step closer era...for me definitely.. i stopped to listen to them, i respected their decision but they must respect the fact that MAJORITY of the fans DIDNT like tha transition..

Mike Hraje a Recenzuje I also understand where you’re coming from, I’ve had the same thought with other bands, that “they’re selling out”, but I try not to think that way. It’s a pretty common thing for artists to change their styles, sometimes a lot, sometimes just a little. I myself don’t listen to the same stuff I did 10 years ago. Also I never heard that Mike didn’t like to rap anymore, that’s new. I mean, isn’t he still rapping? I thought the label didn’t want him to rap... anyway, yeah I feel like they were experimenting from day one, most their biggest hits had some poppy melodies, In The End too. To me wasn’t a big deal as a fan of metal and alternative rock music, I listen to some pop sometimes too. But I understand when you don’t like some artist’s new sound
I didn't even know this album existed until today, and I'm pissed I didn't find this sooner.
This is the first time listening to this whole album. In 1 sitting and all I can say is wow! They really could do anything, and do it well.

First time seeing or hearing about this one right as im writing this comment and ive been a LP fan since the beginning 🤦
It's 2024 and today is my first time listening to this album. I only semi-liked Linkin Park when I was in high school but then I took my gf to see them live in '03 and really liked them a lot more - primarily because of Chester's screaming. Then after Minutes to Midnight they kind of ditched their metal sound and I pretty much moved on. Now years later I am able to appreciate their range and it's really sad because Chester is no longer with us. However to me there are several albums worth of Linkin Park that still feel new, so thank God for that!
I remember when this came out!!! And the album release party... Chester said this is the most hard core heavy album they have made. 'Oh my gosh it is. Such legend!! I never listend to it till it now' I WANT IT!!!!

@@thedbq1 ATS is a frickin masterpiece and arguably their best album. Try to listen to The Catalyst, Waiting for the end, Blackout, Iridescent
Am I the only one who sees the humor of the opening? Before this they released A Thousand Suns and Living Things, where they transitioned away from the heavy sounds and screams toward something more calm and mature. So then you play this, and immediately you hear Bennington (R.I.P.) screaming at the top of his lungs. "Nope, we're back to this sound, guys." Apparently, the album title refers to a theory about culture becoming too passive, where young men were described as "herbivores" who simply waited for opportunity to come to them. They felt the same about music in that people don't take risks anymore, and this is their way of going against the grain. A bold move, and it turned out so well in my opinion.

Especially Guilty All The Same, which is apparently about how "record companies tried to kill me", me being Linkin Park of course. How they felt restricted by the media and such and because of their rebellion they were being played less and less, etc.

they actually said the opposite multiple times in interviews; that they were under pressure to stay a "Nu-Metal" band and continue to make rough music that was similar to their first album. After this album they made their softest one yet so at this point they were just doing whatever the hell they wanted to, not all artists have access to that kind of freedom though :(

It pretty much has and always be that a bands first two albums will be best received and typically fan favorites. You can pretty much look at any and e dry artist ever and that holds true. But every album they released after meteora has plenty of good songs on each one. You could pick any a thousand suns, living things, hunting party, one more light, and easily pick off 5 songs you love. Making an album with 10-12 great songs is a hard task

Even now, *minus one of their lungs,* LP is one of the more versatile bands we have on the menu!!! So what if they strayed from their primordial productions. What's your take on Rebellion, guys? To me the song is about people "rebelling" against meaningless stuff. Even though we're living in the most plentiful times in human history, we pretend that it's all wrong, "back in the days" was better and now we need to rebel, with our stupid iPhones sharing crappy vids on TikTok, depicting how bad it is today. "We are the fortunate ones who never faced oppression's guns" - Almost none of the people "rebelling" today (I'm talking about those who appear in mainstream media, mostly) had to face real oppression, hunger, cold, deaths of hundreds or thousands of people. We are the fortunate ones, living today and not 500-1000 years ago. I truly admire people who had the guts to rebel against real oppressions, risking their very lives. Nowadays rebellions are "imitations".
