Same here, I first listened to this album back in January 2001 when my brother got it as a birthday present. He doesn't understand the music the same way as I do, unfortunately, so he wasn't much into it but I connected to this album on different level. I know alot about music theory, I myself play bass in metal band, and I listen to different sorts of music. But Hybrid Theory is for me one of the best albums of all time and in my top 3, and will forever be in my heart. But for me it is depressing that 99% of the people I know don't understand shit about music. I did not pay too much attention to the lyrics back in 2001 when I first started listening as a kid, but now the atmosphere, simple yet genious compositions of the songs and lyrics make this album pure art, though only for people who understand and appreciate this masterpiece. All band members will be my heroes forever.

@@Krondelo Find someone to talk to. A therapist. Ultimately you give what you put into it, but I have ADHD and I can't sustainably commit to a passion or a project even when I am consumed by it. And if I could turn myself and my life into a passion that I could be fixated/dedicated to all by myself, then I would have done that years ago. I unfortunately can't even help myself. But having a therapist that I meet once a week for a set aside time frame, actually holds me to the project of myself. And what I get from simply mulling over thoughts out loud to my therapist, has helped a lot. Even when I hated it. I'm not there yet, but I'm on anti-depressants and finally looking back on the totality of my life thus far, and feeling better about it.

When I was a teenager, Linkin Park's music helped me get through a really rough home and high school life. 10 years later, their music is still helping me get through the tough times. I’m a 44 year old black man from Queens NYC. This album helped me get out a lot of angst and pain in the early to mid 2000’s. I was in a very bad place in life- my fathered chose his new wife over his son, many friends abandoned me, every single woman in my life betrayed me and I ended up homeless going from shelter to shelter. I did smoke a little weed here and there and drank very little. I’m so thankful I didn’t fall further as so many around me were shooting heroine or smoking crack. Today, I preach and teach The Bible. I wish I could have done something to help Chester Bennington with whatever plagued him to the point he ended his own life. I pray for peace and love of The Most High to whomever is reading this and urge you to never give up. Shalom.

God isnt the only answer for ppl like us, but if it helps, ive been happy for you, but i guess, my pain is too deep for the point, that the bible can help me. But if ppl find a way out of depression, nearly everything is legit (if other ppl didnt get pain for your way). My english is very poor, sry, i try to get better.

I rememer that i riped Meteora on my computer and listened it without CD. It was mind blow, in few years things changed drastically. I was just 12yrs back then, and I remember waiting for new album or song from Linkin Park was like eternity for me... after Meteora, i didnt listen to them much. And then I grow up and saw video on TV few from their last album and I laughed... it was some gentle song. My sister will throw up if she listened that. But I respect band and I listened what they recorded in 20yrs gap and I like it. Lot of respect for them. ❤

Listen to matriphagy by tallah it's a new band that has a singer Justin bonitz who is alot like a mix of Linkin park and slipknot vocal wise it's the only other album I also listen to without skipping a track. Fair warning it's much heavier than linkin park but it has great Chester Bennington sounding vocals here and there
