Joe Hahn doesn't usually get the recognition he deserves. Most Hybrid Theory/Meteora era songs rely heavily on his samplings, and seeing him playing them live flawlessly it's a whole new level.

Everyone else has already said it, but I come back to this specific video a few times a year just because of the energy of how it all kicks in at 1:20 . Think about this, this just just a few months after the release of Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park was brand new and the whole world was excited about it. There's no way to recreate the kind of energy you see from those thousands of people jumping at the start. Incredible.

yeh... came to comments just to read what i was felling... that intro scream... that energy, that 2000's smell... that syncronize crowd jump... we gonna talk about this like our prev gen talked about hendrix, led z and stuff. the quality of music isnt the same, but its different times, liking park may kinda lack quality, but in 2000's we were looking for a mix of quality, energy, and rage... i was a teenager those days, this guys songs seems they were talking to me...

Concerts were fun back then. People rocked out. No dopes with cell phones standing around recording the whole show like today.
I saw them in concert in like 2013 or something. It was cool, but I was a kid and didn’t know all of their songs. The thought that I will never get the opportunity to see them live again is one that haunts me constantly. I will never get to experience the energy of a 2000’s concert and sometimes it’s hard to live with that fact.

I think the main difference is just that people in their mid 30s are more tired than teenagers in general lol. Of course you wouldn't feel the energy or passion of a teenager when you're double that age. You seen & done every thing already. None of this stuff is new to you anymore & you've been in a routine lifestyle. All older people feel that way throughout different generations.

@FrozenStarify
10 жыл бұрын
rockboy360 Well I actually love their new sound from The Hunting Party. It has lots of aggression and the thing about Chester unable to perform his screams as he does in his records...that's just normal. He kinda abused his voice a bit over the years...so it's a natural consequence that he loses this stamina. A line in the Sands and Wastelands both have quite a catchy melody and still remain aggressive imo. I guess it's all about stopping to compare what kind of music they started with and what they are creating now. Musicians develope over the years and so does their music. I think they are still doing awesome work and even though they're different now their kind of music remains absolutely unique and cool. I'll admit, Meteora and Hybrid Theory are two awesome albums and probably their best. You can't surpass your own masterpiece if you've already set the bar that high. This constant comparison is making me mad. I'm a fan of these guys from their first album and enjoyed almost every song that reached me. It's hard filling a bottle that's already full. In the end you need to start breaking the habit and take everything from the inside.
@rockboy360
10 жыл бұрын
I agree and understand what u say, that's why I say linkin park were better back in the day, because chester used to be so awesome live, just like the record and now he isn't. But I, as a musician myself, don't believe in the "evolution" of music, I believe in the expansion of it, for example: I wouldn't mind Linkin Park doing all this weird stuff if they kept doing some old school styled songs too along with the new style ones, some nu metal, some alternative, some poppy stuff like they've been doing recently and new heavy stuff like the hunting party and even some songs that mix all of those styles, I think that would be a pretty smart way to keep all ur fans in your pocket, that would please everyone and would make records more acceptable and enjoyable for all of us.
I miss this era everyday!

this vibe, that flow, the way they believe in what they're doing - perfect harmony ✌
Sang like an angel, screamed like a devil! Rock In Peace Chester 🤘🏽
If only they had used the scream for the intro on the original record, I spent many hours as a child hoping they would release an official version of "With you" with the scream but got the reanimation version. Of course I was happy but it was never the same.. and now after all these years I will probably never hear the famous scream that moved crowds :( I'm not sure why I posted this, kind of a rant...
Look at Hahn go!

Mr Hahn is crazy with the turn tables tho.
I keep coming back to this!
With You Linkin Park I woke up in a dream today To the cold of the static, and put my cold feet on the floor Forgot all about yesterday Remembering I'm pretending to be where I'm not anymore A little taste of hypocrisy And I'm left in the wake of the mistake, slow to react Even though you're so close to me You're still so distant, and I can't bring you back It's true The way I feel Was promised by your face The sound of your voice Painted on my memories Even if you're not with me I'm with you You now I see Keeping everything inside (with you) You now I see Even when I close my eyes I hit you and you hit me back We fall to the floor, the rest of the day stands still Fine line between this and that When things go wrong I pretend that the past isn't real Now I'm trapped in this memory And I'm left in the wake of the mistake, slow to react So, even though you're close to me You're still so distant, and I can't bring you back It's true The way I feel Was promised by your face The sound of your voice Painted on my memories Even if you're not with me I'm with you You now I see Keeping everything inside (with you) You now I see Even when I close my eyes I'm with you You now I see Keeping everything inside (with you) You now I see Even when I close my eyes No, no matter how far we've come I can't wait to see tomorrow No matter how far we've come I can't wait to see tomorrow With you You now I see Keeping everything inside (with you) You now I see Even when I close my eyes With you You now I see Keeping everything inside (with you) You now I see Even when I close my eyes

RIP Chester, you've got me through so many hard times
A voice like this one....is not lost in the years. Is in my heart... My soul feel this voice today for all my life I will love you Chester.
Not even my favorite band but you can't deny that basically all of their deep cuts could have been major radio singles. Truly the single defining band of the 2000's.
2021 and still get goosebumps and that intro omfg!!! 🔥🔥🔥
