Thanks for sharing the detailed and professional explanation! The Loopback feature can capture audio from a computer/mobile device and stream it to a streaming/recording platform, combining audio from app sources and audio input devices. Making streaming and podcasting even more convenient😊

2i2 is great for basically everything other than the use cases you were bringing up. A music focused device vs podcasting/streaming device. I use a gen2 and gen3 in my studio at the moment (Mac and PC). If music isn’t the focus I would look elsewhere like the comica. Focus rite has a great suite of plugins too.

A few months ago I switched out my 2i2 for a Focusrite Vocaster. The on-device mute button was the real selling point. This AD5 seems to be more of a competitor to the Vocaster. Would you consider doing a comparison?

I do love the Scarlett 2i2 gen 2, nice pc of gear. I upgraded to a Behringer x1204 and Behringer monitor2usb to control my monitors and headphones. Love having full control over my audio.

Gotta have control when it comes to audio!

To add, I used the Rode Nt1a for the first 4 years of streaming and it's a fantastic mic, but for live streaming the best option is the new Shure MV7X. The dynamic mic is boss for dialogue audio and cancels out room noise.

I would be interested to hear the difference between the Comica CVM-Linkflex AD5 denoise and a Sound Designs MixPre-3 with Noise Assist (the SD with Noise Assist being a ~$1K A/D interface that most of us would ove, but cannot afford).

That AD5 has an issue by the looks of it whereby it's saying your audio is clipping, but it's not.

Sounddevices is the way to go!

Integrated battery - the worst decision ever for such a device. Even pocket recorders that also could serve as audio-interface come with replaceable batteries. So, no go just because of this. Why would anybody throw away the device when battery inevitably degrades in a couple of years just because Comica didn't bother to make it use standard replaceable batteries. It's not a tiny device to try to decrease the size by not integrating a battery door.
