Linen Apron | Beginner Friendly Sew With Me
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I had some fabric left from my last sewing project, and thought I'd use it to make a cute cottagecore style linen apron. This is a fairly easy project so if you like it but aren't very experienced yet, give this a try!

My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Lucy, you look like a cottagecore queen with this apron, it's so beautiful! Now apron is on my list of things to do, because the only one I have is 20 something years old and I have it since childhood, time for a new one ;) Thank you for encouraging video ;)

Which song is it?
After a horrible day this was a nice video to come to, your enthusiasm over your creation is adorable and I think well deserved, it looks beautiful, well done Loepsy.
Now you just need to add some cute patch pockets to the front so you can carry all your important items while you do your important cow milking chores. :D
I’m making a quilt with my mom. I told her we should make aprons to wear while sewing to keep the threads and dust off our clothes.
I was just looking for a tutorial on this! It must be destiny, I'm totally making it!

YES! If she was in this decade, she would be cottagecore
Who else thinks shes so genuine and sweet 🥺❤️
I love how excited you are at the end about your apron, you're so cute haha! You inspired me to start sewing and now I want an apron for myself even though I don't have any dress to wear it with x) If you want to change the straps maybe you could sew them inside the waistband for a neater finish, that's what I did when I made a pinafore dress, with buttons on top it could look great :)

We have the same first name!!!
I prefer French seams for most things, but for things like the ruffle on the bottom of your apron, I would have used binding. I use the French seams for all structural seams. I've made both a shirt with a ruffled peplum and a dress where I used self made binding tape to cover the raw edges of the gathered parts because I didn't want to loose length with a FS. Yeah, I'm partial to completely finished insides and I do all my sewing by hand, so no serger here either.
"Ooooh, I love it". No, love, I'm not mocking you.I really, really love your apron.... but I even more love your enthousiasme and love for sewing and fabric. And yes... I love it to see your vintage sewing machine. You made me smile...... and reminded me of myself 30 years ago. Thank you for that!
Geweldig dit! Ik ga het onmiddellijk maken!!!! Wat een prachtig schort. EN DIE JURK OP HET EINDE!!!!
It looks so good with the pink dress😍
I was hoping you would start singing about this provincial life. That Belle cosplay potential.
Your linen apron is adorable, and a wonderful beginner's project teaching basic sewing concepts. My mother sewed me two aprons way, way back when my kids were babies, and now that she's gone, they are so treasured!
Lucy, it is so great seeing your excitement and skill grow with each sewing project you do!!! Also, I don't know how tricky it is for others when it comes to gathers in french seams, but one thing I do is sew the seam regularly, leave the gathering thread in and fold in the raw edges than topstitch at the edge to encase them. It's kind of like a fake french hem and I think it just helps keep the gathering in the right place.

Hi I have a little question. This is my first time with gathers and ruffles. She said the width of the skirt should be the size of the waist and a half to be able to gather, so is the bottom part two times the size of the waist?
I just got one of these and I literally cannot stop wearing it, they are so cute!

The details, such as finishings and where/how you attach straps and the waistband has gotten much better! It looks very clean! I love those aprons too they are so cute!!
I was just looking for a vintage apron pattern to sew for my daughter in law, and am very thankful I found yours-thank you! Love the vintage machine, and creativity!
This is so pretty! Definitely gives me confidence that I could make my own linen apron, I bet it would also look pretty with some embroidery on the bodice as well

As always, you make me smile. I love watching your videos. Love it! I am a great grandmother and love that you incorporate your grandmother’s machine and stories about her in your videos. That is one reason I smile. Wish you all the best. 🥰
I wanted to make myself one, now I'm in NEED !!! This looks soooooo great !! The cottageCore vibes is everything !
Thank you! I was able to finish my apron which I started moons ago! I got stuck but your instructions helped me to finally finish it! Yours turned beautiful!

Almost screeched with joy to see another sew with me video on my feed 😍🙌 I LOVE what you sew- somehow it aligns up EXACTLY with what I’m currently sewing and gives me such motivation!!

I love it too. Well Done! Thank you for showing us how you made such a cute, yet functional piece.

I very much agree--except the f word isn't adorable, being profanity! Comparing like with like would make more sense. :)
Excellent presentation with details and without rushing. I agree that the finished apron looked very nice too.
Your sheer joy and happiness are beautiful. It turned out great!
Oaa, I HAVE some linen left *.* perfect timing for this lovely video!! Thank you, I love your style :)
This is so cute!! Great job! Love how excited you are at the end!
Beautiful work! I love that you added a new technique to your project to test it out... you look very pleased with the overall effect and at the end of the day that's what matters the most!
Omg I am in love with that pink dress!! That dress and the apron are perfect together.
This is so cute and flattering! Love it!
I love this. I think I’m going to make myself one.
I just finished sewing my first apron, thank you for this tutorial
Beatiful and great work! You look like Laura Ingalls!
The apron is so elegant and looking vintage. I really love it ❤️
Wow!! The apron looks amazing.
I adore all the sewing content, so inspiring!
Firstly, I love the lace top you're wearing in this video! Secondly, my sewing machine AND serger are being serviced right now, this video makes me wish I had them right now!! XD I've been meaning to make an apron for a long time. My hesitation is that I have to do everything "right" ( I have a degree in apparel design, and over 10 years sewing experience) and struggle with just winging it! The result is SOOOOO cute!! ^_^
And also....very nice to see the result, it turned out so nice 😍 so happy for you 🙌🏼
It is adorable 😍!! I love the placement of the buttons and the ruffles look great!!!
In the US bodice part of the apron is called the “bib”. Fun project!
This is absolutely beautiful and I'm definitely making this. You are so adorable 💕
It looks great! You did a really great job. Thanks for the upload.
OMG!! Please, do more sewing series, they are awewsome! I'm beginning to learn to sew so I would really love to use your videos as tutorials

It looks gorgeous on you! Makes me want to make it too.
I must say I'm really enjoying your sewing videos
I'm getting "Little House on the Prairie" vibes :D Love the way it turned out and it really fit's right over that dress!
Well done Love the music!!! you always have the best choice for music on these videos. I would've added pockets to the front of the apron. One year for Christmas when I was a kid my mom and I sewed aprons for my sisters in law as gifts. They came out wonderfully.
It came out absolutely fantastic!!! You look amazing in it. 😍👍🏼
Omg it came out so friggin cute!
Literally watching this while making a linen apron!
Well done it looks so lovely and I love the back and the dark brown buttons are actually a good contrasting colour.
the end result turned out so beautiful!
This. Is. ADORABLE! Thanks for sharing the process :)
Well I think the huge buttons make the apron look even more adorable. Gonna put this in my sewing playlist for later when I visit my sewing machine at my parents house...
The cutest apron definitely making this 💕🥺!!!
