Line 6 Relay G70 Guitar Wireless Review

**In this video I mistakenly comment that the G50 transmitter has a plastic housing, it in fact has a metal housing. Shame on me.**
A review of the Line 6 Relay G70 guitar wireless system. This system is very similar to the G75. If you're considering a rugged digital wireless system with the capability of easily handling multiple transmitters on one receiver, this may be the system for you.

    You also forgot to mention one killer feature of this system - it has a latency of 1.5 ms, the other systems of Line6 have a latency of 2.9 ms. Thanks for a good review!

    Funnily the G70/75 is not sold anymore but the G50/55 still is. Love the tuner out, I like the A & B out so you can run an electric and acoustic from the same transmitter or a wet/dry setup. Pity it's not sold anymore, must have been troublesome in the long run

    I have used a G50 for about 5 years now. It has served me well for over 800 shows. I also use rechargeable batteries. They last plenty long for even marathon shows. I almost never experience drop-outs under 50-75ft from the receiver. It works like a champ! Thank you for you insightful review. I was looking to buy the G70. Your video has helped me cinch the deal. I must say that for guitar wireless systems, Line 6 Relay Series is the best I have seen anywhere. They are built like tanks, affordable and reliable on the battlefield, where it counts most. What I LOVE most about the new G70 is that you can use regular guitar cables with the transmitter!! Bravo for that stroke of genius....aAnd my tuner pedal can take a break....one less pedal on the board. Sweet. I'll keep my G50 as a back up. I am sure it will keep going for years.

    Hi! I really need your help, what is the weight of the Line 6 Relay G70's receiver, because I couldn't find its weight in the owner's manual. Can you measure it please? Thanks! :)

    i cannot, for the life of me, get this to work with any of my acoustic guitars.... this works perfectly with my electric, but i cannot get an input signal on the receiver when plugged into my acoustic..! have you had any experience with this?

    Hey, great review!!!! I've been using an audio technica for about a decade and it's time to move to digital (FCC taking the frequency). I'm looking at the line6 relay series. I currently use one receiver, and 2 or 3 transmitters, to switch between guitars. I keep all the transmitters on the same channel, and it is part of my normal flow to flip the transmitter on when I pickup a guitar and switch it off when I put the guitar down. This way I can switch guitars really fast, even though I'm not within reach of my pedalboard, as I don't need to step on an A/B pedal. Would that be possible with this rig? Could I set two transmitters to the same channel so that I don't have to step on the pedal to switch guitars?

    Thanks! That shouldn't be a problem at all. As long as you switch the other ones off, you'll be just fine.

    Sweet. That is exactly what I'm hoping to do. Thanks again for a really good demo, this video was the best info I could find on this rig and I didn't want to drop that much money without knowing more about it. Thank you!

    The cae Simulator should be a super highlighted feature of this thing.. If it doesn't do the job, I guess it's a lame feature that shouldn't affect a buyers decision to get it. Hmmm

    im curious about the batteries you use. since rechargeable batteries are lower voltage than alkaline batteries...do you notice a sound difference? can you try this theory out for me?

  • @ManBunMetalHead

    @ManBunMetalHead

    6 жыл бұрын

    Because the G70 is a digital wireless, you won't have any differences or degradation in sound with a lower battery level. When the voltage reaches a certain level, it will just stop working.

    I just ordered a G75 from Musicians Friend on the "Stupid Deal of the day" for $229.00. I was looking at the middle of the road systems for almost that price. The G70 was not on sale but if they ever go for the Stupid Deal price...

    I would use the boost to boost my Strat relative to my Les Paul, so my pedals/amps are receiving the same level.

    @@tcarper i have used the audio technica system 10 stomp digital wireless for years all over the country in sketchy venues up to grand ones like o2 academies. Not a single dropout. The only thing i miss is a cable input but you can achieve this with a switch pedal if required.
