Hey mr. Nate do you think you can do a review of a Dingwall afterburner II? I plan on DIYing a bass and i don’t know if i want to chamber the body😅
The amount of features in NATE himself are actually in=sane.
I've been waiting for more demos! I love Darkglass, Sansamp, and Aguilar sims on the Helix, but don't really venture much from those three basic sounds. This is amazing for the price range!
0:12 you nailed the slegehammer tone

That first preset you made sounds amazing 👏🏿 wow. Thanks for showing them all to us..
Great demo as always Nate!!!
This video definitely sold me, ordered
Excellent multi-effect pedal ! THX for the great demo Nate! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great Demo Nate!
Great product review and demo!
Good thorough review. Reasonably priced for all the features too!
NATE. thanks for inspiring me to start my cover channel. Learned a lot from you. Love all your vids!
One day I’d like to see Nate play a Glarry through a cheap practice amp. I’ll predict we’d all still be absolutely amazed as usual.

This thing is so versatile, wow!
Damn your playing is phenomenal Nate!! So locked in and groovy! And great compositions too!! Subscribed!!!
I was about to buy a cheap modern modeller w/screen but probably I'll go for this , seems a lot more handy and the few sounds are great , thank you
The best online review, hands down, thanks!
wow sounds really good
Pretty cool demo, Nate 😎🎸 this multi-effects pedal sounds pretty cool. The effects I personally like are boost, overdrive, distortion, chorus, flanger, and the limiter. As for the amp models, I honestly like modern, punch, round, and deep. I normally don’t use synth effects live, but some of them sounded pretty rad and can be useful for experimental recordings.
Great playing and a great quick walkthrough of all the possibilities!
This is interesting. I know it would never end up on my stage pedalboard. But I could see it being useful for rehearsing or quickly recording a demo to send to bandmates.
Awesome, man ❤❤❤❤
That string synth was KILLER
That Harley Benton sounds killer. This pedal looks like a good deal. I will have to check it out. Nice demo.
I love how obscenely powerful these pedals are getting. LFG
Love the versatility! All these options in one box that’s not some cheap “Uni-pedal”
This is the first demo where I see someone making good use - and good sounds coming from that synth knob. I was, and really, still am skeptical about that octave effect only going down, and not adjustable for a +1 octive - but your presets sound pretty great using it.
Instant buy.
Thanks for making this a very simple yet extensive review!
Cool demo. I wish it had 2 modulation knobs, or a delay separate from the ither mid effects. Still looks pretty versatile for the price.

I Agree. And, a reverb would be nice. Adding a +1 octave option to that effect would have been a nice touch, this being for bass.
I wish EBMM would reissue the Sterling H/S model. This little Line 6 unit is perfect for Practice/Fly rig on the cheap. Thanks Nate 🍺
Just saw it fly over my house. Way cool.
Its cool that it can be a interface no latency i hope im looking for a recording solution for bass and this could be it
Would have liked to see a longer demo, maybe showing how to build presets
One thing you forgot to mention about the pod is that it also offers looping capabilities 😊
That finger ramp on the Harley Benton is sick asf

Thanks! This is a prototype signature bass (Me + Harley Benton). Aiming to release the completed version sometime this year.
I may or may not have to switch from my Behringer BDI-21 the next time disposable income allows... DAMN this thing is versatile!
proof that you dont need expensive gear to be good. the HB bass looks and sounds great!
Dayum. For a covers gig bassist, this is the only thing you would ever need.
Great demo. Other reviewers take note ! Uncluttered and direct showing clearly what each item does in a logical progressive way.
Can someone explain why this unit doesn't have an XLR out? Bassists often want to go direct to FOH but this unit doesn't seem to do that, was it designed just to go in front of an amp?
I think for now I'm sticking with my Bass POD XT
To be fair…. This dude could plug into an empty shoe box and somehow make it sound like a million dollars.
Hey Nate great vid. Do you consider this a professional level unit as a fly rig for touring and gigging? It’s always a pain hauling my large pedalboard around the world! Thx!
Great walkthrough, thanks Nate! Technical question: is it possible to record dry and wet into the computer and re-amp later using the POD Express over USB?
Great demo! But I'd pick a Zoom B1 Four for half that price all day.
0:12 Sledgehammer time 🤩
Thanks for the demo! What do you think about this for live shows?
@NateNavarro
3 ай бұрын
Any time! I think it's a good option for playing live. 21 presets is plenty for most gigs, and they're easy to switch through. The presets are also clearly marked via the center knob's rotary lights. Line 6 found a clever approach to the overall layout of this pedal. As the old marketing phrase goes, "It's fun and easy."

You had me at Myung! 🤘😎
Curious if you could get the peter Steele sound of Type O Negative. He used a Boss ds-1 distortion pedal with a Boss chorus.
Wish they would have put it in a metal case
It looks awesome; but how do you control blend/dry and tone?
@eziorecaldini8579
3 ай бұрын
You can blend by knobs and change tone on the bass...
Can i upload a patch that was the originally made on a helix rack onto this unit?
The bass model sounds WAY better than the guitar 1!
These multi pedals are getting smaller and sounding really good. I'd happily throw this in my gig bag and go play.
Want to play an Ominous Bass Riff? Here’s the Tab: E0 E2 E3 E4, E3 E4, E3 E4 E3 E4, A2 E4. *Repeat 16 more times* BPM = 110 Pedal = Reverb and/or Delay There’s a lot more to the riff, but it would be a pain in the butt to transcribe every one. Also, I don’t know the amount of Reverb or Delay for the riff. The riff sounds better played with a picc.
Their catalyst guitar amps have this feature
What exactly is the bypass?
The Sweetwater link doesn't go the pedal
Not mentioning looper?
I bought one. Not very user friendly but has unlimited sounds

@iliazh8949

@@eddiec2711 You wouldn't need Scarlett in that case - the POD Express IS an audio-interface by itself. So something like that should work: Connect the POD Express to your iPad with the USB C to USB C cable (I'm not sure if you'd need a special cable - I'm an Android/Windows user) Plug in your bass into POD Express, connect your headphones to POD Express. Play your backing track on your iPad - the sound should come out of your headphones plugged into the POD Express. Play bass at the same time - you'll get the mix of your backing track and your instrument.

The b1four definitely has more options, sound shaping abilities and features but, the pod has faster presets, a more simplistic design and the price isn't too steep. I would love to see a sound comparison.

Not sure I'd be happy with the adjustability of this thing. Having just one parameter for so many different effects seems limiting.
@wbales2592

That’s why it’s only $180. You’re not paying for all those parameters.
2:15 what in the?!?!
So I have a total noob question here, either for the man here himself, or anyone in the comments section. I am very much a home player who will at most ever play with a small group in a jam session (all using amps) or a small stage, again, mostly relying on amps and not a PA. Do pedals like this, or the HX Stomp, or the Origin Effects Bass Rig, or the multitudes of preamp pedals that have EQ, emulations, cab sims, etc., have any function or place in use with an amp and cab? Or are these all solely designed for the amp-less world of DI to FOH, recording desks, or interface to DAW scenarios? I know. A really dumb question, but there isn't a demo on KZread for these types of pedals that isn't going straight into an interface or that even mentions where an amp might enter the picture. If anyone out there has any insights on this matter that might help out a very confused "bucket-list" bass player, I'd be grateful. Cheers!
@dannygold2882
3 ай бұрын
Many bass and guitar players user them in front for existing amps. My stomp is all of my effects but I don’t use an amp or cab sim in my patches unless recording from it. I still do a lot of room EQ on my Mesa amp.
@dannygold2882
3 ай бұрын
Pre amp pedals themselves can give you tone shaping in front of an amp, but in your situation I’d try this pod or the hx stomp for playing with effects
@alextinsley9117

@@dannygold2882 Thaks for your input. I'll consider that as I the bigger picture of my amplification & effects needs. Cheers!
I appreciate what you’re doing here, Nate. But you playing through this thing makes it sound about 50 times better than it actually is. I can see myself using the synth bit in some odd occasions, and the mod. part does add a bit of movement if you need it. But that’s s it for me. It don’t see much value in this after you stopped playing.
No displey, how to know what is the preset
It's cool, but the Zoom B14 is half the price and has more sounds and a digital screen to help customize a signal chain. This doesn't sound much different from the Zoom.
Unfortunately, no- one of the AMP- Sim- settings is clean. I know no bass player, who only plays with grit. I think the pedal could be a great tool, but this demo isn't for me.

I suppose I don’t doubt your experience but I never run a totally clean tone and haven’t for 15 years or more. The vast majority of bass tones in rock use some amount of tube grit or outright overdrive.
@user-hn8bb7mi9l

Using a clean DI on top of the amp is most guys way to go. So this demo isn't meant to be completely clean. I can totally see someone using the DI out on a G10S and this is as their backup rig. Hell, I might even do that.
Really don't like the amp sims apart from 1 or two... Distortion and overdrive is ok, if used with low settings. Overall... Meh...

After a certain point all the pedals and processors are a coverup for beginners who can't play, so they make interesting noise. Nate however is a great musician who plays magnificently with or without all the bells and whistles. Love your videos, keep up the great work!!!

Name something else that can do all that for cheaper. And in a few months you'll be able to find them on fb for $100 used
179 dollars for a practice amp , interesting in the USA but not in Europe, Thomann sells it for 218 EUROS, it's 30% more than in the US! At this price you are not far from the OPUS that is a much more professional and sturdy construction .....
@michisauer
3 ай бұрын
You forgot about some things: First: prices in the US are usually exVAT. Second: Dollar and Euro are not 1:1 right now, euro is a bit low which expresses itself in higher prices. Overall the pricing including vat and import seem to be ok. Btw: 19% of 180$ would already be 35$ which would add up to 215. Prices are still ok. Btw: the opus is at 320€ on thomann. If you add some cabinets to really use its features, you easily come out at 400-420€. So please (even if I do really think the 100-200€ is well invested), do not compare these two. This is a completely different customer group.
