I finally bought a PE and I fully agree on everything you have shared so far. I would as well really love to see an editor released soon. I have magnified the tones out of this pedal with a high pass filter and a high shelf in my DAW. It was already very good but it just added this touch of magic. I really don’t like when you have to use more than 3 fingers to change a parameter. 2 should be the golden rule, like pressing alt and another knob. The guys testing the ergonomics at Line 6 definitely didn’t try it while holding a Flying V… Imagine holding the guitar with your belly and elbow while your left hand presses alt and tap and your right hand turn the knob to select a cab… If they give up on an editor (because they already sold a lot and don’t want to cut their profit with additional costs), maybe a firmware update where we can select the option to only press once the alt button to enter the alternative mode without having to keep it pressed, would be a great improvement.

If there was a way to edit your options on the presets to create variety as well as be able to edit the cabinets to IR blocks, that would be IT with having an editor. Great video John as always. 🔥

YES!!! lol I've been googling all over hell and back looking to see if there's any kind of editor (just got mine today) and ended up here. We need a damned editor for this thing!! I have heard that they should be having one come out. A few reviews I saw mentioned an editor.

The Zoom Multistomp MS50G+ is a product that I haven’t heard much buzz about that I would like to see in a shootout with the Pod Express.

I really appreciate your ability to demonstrate ease of use with a baby on your knee, that is really the true test. So far, the only editor function I am after is a way to easily apply boost while adjusting final volume to unity gain. Is there already a workaround for this?

I tried the pod express this weekend but couldn’t get on with it. It was better with my own IRs (hosted externally) made it passable….. just. Im sending it back sadly.

I also wonder if the USB port might be able to facilitate some midi communication in the future …

Yes please, we need an editor. I find that the modulations when engaged boost the volume and I'd like to be able to control the mix of each. Same with the other fx. The ability to load IR's would be great. If not, the ability to tweak the cab and mic parameters would be extremely helpful. Hopefully they release something soon. 🤞

When you assign Delay to "external B" can that switch also control the looper since it's on that knob?

The Pod Express is clearly a very good pedal, jammed full of useful tones.. I suspect Line 6 will release an Editor if it is possible. There may be limitations in the technical architecture that may preclude the type of editing you'd like to do, but I don't know. There are things about how the HX Stomp actually constructs a tone/sound that I'd love to know. That way, I could make suggestions that are actually possible to be programmed.

As much as I love my L6 gear they aren't exactly the most responsive company when it comes to software support when looking a bit further than firmware development. It took them nearly 4 years to address the core isolation issue for their Windows 10/11 USB drivers used by the Helix family line devices.

Plug that thing into the FX loop on the IR2 please. You can at least use the Boss editor to dial in the IR and then cut out the amp and cabs on the Pod or use those as pre amps.

@@ksharpe10 Im dying to see it. I have both on order with that plan in mind. The IR2 Ive been waiting for since January and the Pod Exp will deliver this Wed. But I think this is how modelers should be done. Before this came out, my thoughts were that Boss should come out with an FX module to compliment the IR2 and here we are Line 6 already did it. I think this is goingj to be a popular pairing. I have the Spark Go and was planning to use that with the IR2 but now the Pod Exp pretty much makes that obsolete and will be less combersome and without need to use an app.

Wouldn't it be great if you could plug it into a phone or laptop to change and edit things. It would be so much easier than relying on clicks and coloured lights. I'm always worried about effing things up and not being able to get back to the place I started! I will be honest, I kind of got lost trying to follow the steps you took. I have an express but not had a deep dive yet. I also have the Katana mini on my birthday list

I really, really need an editor. It just needs a little bit more tweakability to make it perfectly usable for most gigs. The most baffling design flaw I've come across is that if you change your FS behavior to toggle individual effects on and off, it seems you lose the ability to have any of the other individual effects simply be always on. Meaning I have FS 1 for Dist, FS 3 for Delay, FS 4 for Reverb, and I now simply can't have the Mod effect on. This is insane.

ALSO, my TC Helicon Play Acoustic can take a 6 button FS into the TRS. That would be absolutely huge for this unit.

Can't you edit or adjust settings/effects online ?

No comp or eq, rules it out for me. Essentially it’s just the Dsp section from a Catalyst with ability to run two more fx simultaneously.

I believe the published FAQs say there will be an editor.

This is getting a bit into a compulsion, the POD should consider you an ad face already 😄 The pedal seems great, but I guess it is important to recognise the functionality elements, it's clear that in order to change sounds it requires a considerable amount of "fiddle" which probably isn't gonna fly easy on the spot.

Eehhh - for once I might disagree with you regarding an editor. I think the whole point of this device is the raw simplicity of turning the knobs on your desk or tabletop. But I may change my mind once I start fiddling with mine when it's delivered.

@@erikvonbehr I've had it for about a month now and love it - I've recorded several songs with it and it sounds great. So simple to use.

If it had an editor, I wouldn't buy it. Keeping it simple, and I think that's the whole point.

What we need...is for us to be able to load the amps WE want...not amps we don't want.

I am afraid this would make this pedal TOO GOOD - and canibalize their other more expensive hw too much.

Now just toss an Xotic Super Sweet Booster in front of it :)

I’m sorry but just watching the demo and all the steps you have to take to set up and then you get to the gig and have to make a quick change it’s too much bother. Regular pedals I say much less hastle. Don’t get me wrong much appreciated the demo 👍
