just bought one of these yesterday cause my spider V 120 died... im liking it so far.

I'm using HX Effects + Catalyst 100, 4CM and MIDI to change the amp preset and turn the amp boost on and off. Works and sounds great. Very versatile rig

I have the HX Effexts, it's a really good.

Great video, and I have to say...I've watched quite a few videos about the Catalyst, and I was never impressed with the high gain. However, you make it sound better than any of the videos I've watched. Maybe I just don't have the ears, not being a true high gain guy, but to my ears you make it chug.

I just bought the cat 60 and there was always this time when I press tap + reverb or + effect then the sound just goes of, like there was no sound. Does that normally happens?

In 11:37, the sound changes so much! Is this because of the guitar? Because in this case I have a Danelectro, I would not know if this amp would sound compatible, I mean, in the sense of a pristine sound.

P90's in that catalyst sounds awesome

Portable, light, grab and go for rehearsals. Just clean, reverb and some pedals. Done.

How do stop the buzzing. It acts like my guitar is totally unshielded. I can’t stand the buzzing. If I have to hook it to a computer to turn off the buzzing the amp might as well be a lemon. Yours sounds good though. I did figure out while playing through the preamp the buzzing goes away. At least it’s louder then my “ION” Bluetooth speaker

Why aren't we hearing the amp? The problem is amp is it doesn't have a EQ inside of it the effects are quite limited.

Well this amp caught me out a bit as was going to say this was a a low gain Fender style amp but as you kept on turning the different styles right round to the full gain really did give it a good boost to something really nice. My only complaint would be a lack of other effects other then reverb or delay when other practice amps would give you a few more (Chorus, flanger, etc) still seems to be a great amp though.

You have a whole bunch of effects on there - six delays, six modulations and six octave/filter/synth FX - we will do a full video about them shortly

They have other effects built in. I use the catalyst 200 with a boss me 90. Fn awesome man 👌

Did the follow-up to this with the effects ever come to fruition?

Solid State amps are the best for live. Tubes heat up on stage / temperature conditions and do not present a consistent tone. It's known and and most pros agree. Also tubes are terrible for touring. If the venues power is not quite at spec certain functions of the tube amp will not function correctly.

Just got back from trying the 60 at GC and was underwhelmed (Great deal at $250 US today). Really disappointed with the attenuator and zero wow factor. Probably just me, but I walked away empty handed.

It has an effects loop mate. Or use as a powered speaker, choose to use whatever effects you like. 🧐😌

@@bivotarshamble3672 But as an amp you only get two effects at any one time, I aleady have a powered speaker. If we could use four or five effects at the same time it would be useful, the whole point is that it had effects so we did'nt need to take a pedal board. They might as well just have released a single channel amp with reverb, because if you have a padalboard you probably prefer your own pedals anyway. But if it works for others then that's great :)

Is that a 60? Try midi and get back to me. Please.

I wanted to like this amp but I'm not feeling or hearing it. I have a Blackstar ID Core 100 that puts this amp to shame IMHO.
