Keeping it confidential doesn't mean hold onto it until an opportune time to derail a Confirmation. Prudence dictates you bring it to the chairman of the committee so as to determine the best way to deal with it, while respecting both the accused and the accuser. Senators Grassley and Feinstein supposedly had a good working relationship, she should not have had a problem going to him and working with him on this. Instead Senator Feinstein sat on the accusation like a mother hen on an egg, waiting for it to mature enough so she could unveil it at a time when it would do the most damage to the opposing party's nominee. It's the timing of all thus that smacks of a political hit job.

I hope you're right, Scorpion1957, but I'm afraid you won't be. With the likes of Flake, Collins, and Murkowski in the GOP Senate caucus, absolutely nothing is guaranteed, and given their history in the Senate thus far, they are more likely to vote with the Democrats than vote the right way and vote for Kavanaugh. The fact that we've been dragged to this reprehensible point in the process is the result of GOP caving to Democrat bullying, and I don't anticipate these people suddenly gaining courage and standing up to those Machiavellians-gone-absolutely-mad. We see it, it’s smoke and mirrors. This will never fly in a real court. All hearsay, information is he said she said. No evidence all witnesses are weak and can’t cooperates the victims information. Makes me scared for my son, dad, brother because all you have to do to ruin someone’s life is to make an accusation.

Well Snow Flake, I have a flickering brain cell and I am still not convinced that this woman had nothing to gain! I understand about her situation however, if she was going to get in the arena, then why play the weak lil girl act and not tell the WHOLE story? If you are going to accuse someone and possible ruin the lives of multiple people, you better be ready to bring it!!! NOT just say enough to ruin lives and then cover yourself from any perjury charges if anyone were truly to investigate your claim. Talk about setting women back! Cmon now! And I think this committee and the media have gone OVERBOARD to name her credible even when she has not told the whole story! Then Kavanagh is mocked in the media for telling his! So please please don't try to make anyone feel sorry here....Everyone need to take responsibility and then maybe we will get somewhere.....

If you are right, then the FBI will clear Kavanaugh. I have nothing against that. Let Mark Judge say under oath that he doesn't remember knowing that he could go to jail. If that is cleared and similar witnesses are cleared as well then Kavanaugh can go on in spite of the unfitting testimony that he gave where he seemed anything but "even keeled". "Have you blacked out Senator? No, no, answer me I am curious" . What the hell is that?

Why does no one point out the fact that "recovered memories", more often than not, are false memories

There are a bunch of lawyers that should be disbarred.

In my opinion, his outrage was well-put and well-placed. I hope he is able to help the Senate get to the bottom of it.

They should check you and everybody here. Oh wait they are, women abusers are going down now. How can you Deny the emotion, and accurate lesson in how the brain and basic memory functions work. You could maybe claim she is the worlds greatest actor and that she is lying or acting but questioning her Sanity only showcases your own stupidity and highly suggests that your overcompensation is an attempt to distract from the abuse of women that you support. Just like with Bart Okavanah...

The Kavanagh plot has been absolutely despicable. And thankfully it sounds like Lindsay Graham is fired up and gunning for them. This is going to backfire in the Dems face spectacularly. Just on another point - Lindsay Graham, in just a couple of weeks, has overturned a years-long consensus that he was just the malleable lapdog of John McCain, and has come out fighting. Perhaps he's now free of that choke chain. If he keeps behaving like this I'm going to have to start thinking he's awesome.

nope- the Republicans brought in the woman because THEYRE ARENT ANY Republican Women on the Commitee- only mostly Ancient Olde White Men- they thought it would "look" bad so they brought in a woman.. The Democratic Men and Women Senators all asked there own questions..

"presumption of innocence" This isn't a presumption of innocence, this is a blind declaration of innocence, without regard to any information. This is, "defend the tribe" and that's it. The fact that they are so eager to push this along without an investigation is frankly, alarming. Also, if nothing's found, there's not really much damage done to his name. He'd, I assume, definitely get the seat and be a respected Supreme Court Judge and people will forget about it (you know, like normal people. Not including cons obsessed over Hillary to the point of mental instability)
