That is an amazingly stunning palace and grounds. It does remind me a lot of Versailles and also Schonbrunn in Vienna. I learned about Ludwig II years ago from a "Stuff You Missed in History Class" and was always fascinated by it. But I never realized just how beautiful his palace was.

Wow, such an impressive palace surrounded with beautiful gardens, ponds , flowers, great monuments and fountains. Interesting facts about what happened to king Ludwig II who built the palace. It must have been nice also if you’re able to take some photos of the interior and grotto. Definitely this one deserves a visit. Thanks for sharing!

I visited Linderhof Palace in 1980. It's gorgeous! I still have very vivid memories of the Venus Grotto as well as Mad King Ludwig II's bed chamber in particular. If you've never been and get the opportunity to go you should.
