Alanyan's style is so disruptive and unique that he made most opponents so uncomfortable. Lin, one of the most promising young player, almost fell into the Iranian's hand.

Lin controlled the game actually

@@KYchiu402 Winning by what was only a fine margin from 3-2 is not controlling a game. China supporters should start giving credit to other players, especially those from lesser developed nations who have a fraction of the expertise and knowledge available to them and rely on raw talent. Noshad and Quadri are 2 outstanding examples of this.

Table tennis is a special sport. Alamiyan looks like us mortals, playing backhand from forehand corner, not in correct positions with his feet, often getting the ball to his body and so on. Still manages to get the ball on the table and beat Liang Jinkun, playing even with Lin Shindong.

Obviously you don't know anyhting about him! He suffers from a neurological disorder that has affected his ability to use his forehand in the sport. Due to this condition, he is unable to effectively use his forehand and can only play with his backhand. Sometimes he swithes hands to smash though!

@@Sam-fg5mi Did not know that. Seen him play some fantastic matches and hit great forehands also, so did not know that. Even more fantastic achivement to beat one of the best players.

I remember in his youth, his FH also quite devastating. He beat Wang Liqin once in 2015-2016 I think.

He played a _lot_ of forehands in this match, both block and drive. He seems to be making something of a recovery of his old, pre-injury, game.

I was pulling hard for Noshad bc I’m just sick of seeing China win. Also his style is quite unique and it’s cool to see him beat so many people with primarily his backhand

Alamian is a very demonstrative player. I think his need for hyperactive footwork and reaction-time makes him trigger-happy over anything he thinks happened.
