He needed the spring clutch because his left leg (clutch leg) was in plaster hip to toe for most of a year. The registration JB8500 is a local Reading in Berkshire number so could well be a Royal car. Contact the Jaguar Daimler heritage centre at Gaydon - home of the British Motor Museum. You can order a build certificate so this could help in tracing the original owner. 😉 However Daimler & Jaguar would loan cars to the Royal Family so may show them as them as the registered keeper.

Hi Alex. You are correct that the JB registration originated from Berkshire, the county which includes Windsor. But that in itself is no proof that the car was used by the royal family. Your car seems in very good condition, a good base to finish off. Daimler were very conservative indeed, and probably there were heated debates abouot such modernities as trafficators. It’s such a beautiful piece of British history and now it’s owned by a successful antique dealer in Alberta, Canada. I find that fascinating!! It’s in such beautiful shape and it could go on as an event limousine, but it still has life in it for some time yet. May I ask what is the gorgeous blue car that’s in the middle? I want to compare it with a car that was going to be given to me in 1980, but the wife wanted to trade it in for another vehicle, so I didn’t get it. In 2016 the husband(My 2nd cousin.) drove me to a car shop and he said he had a surprise for me and there was the same car that they sold. I took so many pictures of it. It’s too bad we can’t put pictures with our comments (They would get approved by you first before publishing them on here with the persons comment.) because I’d love to show it to you. I believe it was a Jaguar. Anyhow, loved seeing your new/vintage car. Take care.

Wow looks amazing
Beautiful car❤
Congrats almost 510K subs. Who would have thought ... I was in the first 500!
Beautiful car
Daimler would look great in two tone livery. Black/silver, black/burgundy, etc.
Hi Alex and Melissa 🙋🏽. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas 🎄❤️.in Canada y'all pronounce your car DAIM-LER, IN THE USA WE PRONOUNCE THE NAME OF YOUR CAR DIME -LER CHRYSLER. THAT'S SO AWESOME. HAVE A GREAT DAY ALEX‼️😃👍🏽.

Interesting- where are you from?
Impressive car!
Minus 22 degrees for your southern neighbors.
Amazing car! ❤️ This feels like a sales add. I hope that doesn't mean that it's going.
I was a Limo driver part time for 28 years and even the modern limos with the solid partition up you can hear the people in the back. (but do not tell them).🤫
I can only imagine how much better that car looked when it was black. But it still looks mighty nice now.
Your car seems in very good condition, a good base to finish off. Daimler were very conservative indeed, and probably there were heated debates abouot such modernities as trafficators. Loking at this car, it's easy to see how Daimler did not last much longer as an independent manufacturer, and ended up as simply a fancier Jaguar.
Sweet,nice job!
It is a great looking car, you could hang onto it for the boys' grads or weddings or for Abbigails' wedding ! If it was a royal car in 1948 it would have been King George's car not the queen's, when new anyway. 👍🇨🇦✌️
We had a few very cold days in Switzerland, but now it is warmer than normal, They think we might have the warmest change of year ever. Everytime we get warm air coming in around Christmas. But it is about +10 Celsius now. Well I would hate to have minus 30.
What a nifty car!
Put her back to her natural color she look wonderful back to her original colors❤❤
As Mick would say , “PAINT IT BLACK “ 😊
Thanks Alex!
Don't know if Canadian Schools have Proms .......this would be a real kickass car to arrive in with you as the Chauffer.
beautiful
Awesome again 🎸🎸🎸🎸
You said Walk About. The only occasion I remember hearing that expression was in the Movie Crokodile Dundee. May be it is a Commonwealth expression. I use the term Walk Around. A funny car: It cannot get more British than that.
I didn't know Daimler was based in Coventry originally, just like Jaguar. I was born 20 min. from Coventry and my dad was born in Coventry and LOVES Jags!!
A great car 👍👍
Take care.
Seems like a sales video for the car. R u selling it? It looks good but I think would look amazing in black.

I was thinking the same thing would look great in black
The transmission may have been manufactured by Cord. It was also used in some Tuckers. You might want to replace the single reservoir brake master cylinder with a modern one with two reservoirs so you will still have working brakes in case you had a fluid loss failure in the front or back brakes.

Cord, Tucker and others used Wilson (made) preselecter gearboxes.
Hi Alexander, what a wonderful car, you looked very regal in it , it should get a lovely new home if you sell it? Good work .👍
the manual is so comprehensive because the chauffeur would also usually service and maintain the car
Don't forget the lead additives for your old cars.
Thank you 👍
Hi Alex! Great job on the Daimler. What does the T on the gear shifter stand for?

T is for top I read elsewhere but what it does is a mystery to me lol

T is for 'Top'....most gearboxes then were 3 speed, these had 4...but called it 'Top' instead of fourth.
Nice glad to see you got it running. Wasnt the magazine I sent you about this car?
Hi Alex and family, The Diamler is coming a long just fine! Obviously, your choice I would leave it white! Perhaps a wedding car for the boys or even Abigail as it is stunning! I hope our guys had a Merry Christmas and will have a blessed New Year! Take care from your long time subscriber from California. P.S. minus 40 Celsius = minus 40 Fahrenheit.
I always enjoy your car videos. If I was a guy I'd like them even more. I'd love to see this car out on a highway. Are you planning on doing that some time?
Wow. That is BEAUTIFUL. Does it really need a re-paint,? A careful "touch-up" would surely do.
You got to mount the tire on the trunk and paint it black again and never get rid of it or burgundy and black would have been black at the bottom burgundy in the middle black at the top and you possibly have a queen's car

Spare was never on the trunk lid, always in the special compartment under the trunk.
