Hi, I live in sandpoint and when u see the "Connies Cafe" sign, the new owners were having the fluorescent light bulb replaced . It's not gun shots but the area the name Connies, fluorescent bulb is bolted in to the sign. Connies is delish btw.

Fucking wild how many cars and lanes on the road there are for a population of 9,000
That's very post-modern actually, those tobacconist's that aren't tobacconists. The sign and the signified have parted company, and nothing feels an obligation to mean anything anymore. It's enough to just suggest things.

Well, it's either me or Mary Lou Pat and that ol' gurl ain't got too long. Not with that Ronnie Reagan in dat big beautiful White House, anyway. I'm guessing that somebody misspelled "tavern" to "tervan." And they were like, "aw Jimmy you fucked up the sign!!!" And didn't have enough money to get it fixed. Nowadays they do have enough money, but they've kept the old sign as a charming gimmick.
As an American I love these tours and hearing Limmy's thoughts

I moved to Sandpoint last year, and his assessment of the town is spot on. Also spending two minutes on Google Maps and going "ooo is that a Safeway" was definitely part of my decision process. Blew my mind as a fan of Limmy's show

Taking Limmy to a Southern Baptist Church in Texas sounds like a hilarious time, as does making the first video ever inside Idaho's oldest bar. The entire time he was browsing Glasgow I was imagining the money I could make if I pulled up with a pressure washer.
Sandpoint had such potential before it turned out to be just another American wasteland of cars, roads and car parks
I skipped forward and thought, blimey this American town looks better, almost as if humans live there, then realised Limmy had jumped to Glasgow (the real one)
I call this taking a google holiday. I usually take one right before or after my lunch break at work.
The view is similar to Loch Lomond from Conic Hill.

Brilliant. As an Aberdonian living in Chico, California, this is spot on.
9000 people and you can't get to the fucking Safeway on foot. Population that small, there shouldn't be anyone in the whole town whose window you couldn't put through with a brick from your front door, but the place is the size of Aberdeen!

Being vegetarian, those Safeway's were life savers last time I was in the States. Their shops are all so massive and sell everything, but Safeway can be relied on for some potato salad and wedges

Glesga looks a funny place...
Sandpoint is a ski and lake resort town, sort of like Aspen though not on the same order. So the housing costs are off the charts for what you'd otherwise expect from a little Idaho town. Also Idaho in general has a problem in that it's a magnet for America's racists, and this place is no different. Surprisingly nice place to visit, though... enjoy the restaurants.

26:00 doesn't rhyme also the grammar is incorrect, The plenty does not belong to the twenty.
@idot3331

It's grammatically correct to say it, because you're abbreviating "is". The only way to write it grammatically correctly is "Twenty 's plenty" with a space before the 's but that looks weird.

No wonder that the few that escape America for a holiday, think Europe and UK are so amazing! They've got hundreds of years of catching up to do. What a truly dull place. Their towns say everything, fast food, Christianity and streets with no personality at all. I've absolutely no desire to visit the place at all. Canada was bad enough.
@jasonfenton8250

I find some of the older cities to be tolerable because there's some interesting history and because they were built before the ugly car based city design became a thing. The best part of America is probably the nature stuff. Go hiking, or kayaking, or hunting. Get away from the ugly stroads and strip malls.
@jdlamb4212

Cuz you don't have to squeeze everything into a small area. When these places were first founded you'd just go out and buy some cheap land you can't even see all at once. Poor people could get a chunk of land that would put a lord to shame.
Limmy should do a tour of Pasadena. That’s where they shot the first Halloween and where the Myers house still stands.
