Thank you. I started reading this book but it was more a story about Jim with very little info than a book on memory. More fluff than I would like. Thank you for this short summary with only the necessary information. How can you possibly count out loud while reading? Anyone have any ideas on how to do this if you’re a sub-vocalizer? I keep trying but end up just saying the word in my head in between the counting.

Would not recommend it. His book is just a sales letter to his courses. Granted there are good concepts in the book but he doesn't share any real techniques and instead invites you join his courses There is nothing wrong with courses and pay for them but what is wrong is to trick customers to buy a book that is mostly a sales pitch

LIMITLESS by Jim Kwik | Core Message # Reading Mindset Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right - Henry Ford Suspend limiting beliefs Act as though your mental abilities are limitless # Reading Motivation Peak state Curiosity Wonder Excitement Learning is state dependant Get yourself into learning state What great insight will I get from this book? How will this insight forever change my life? When will I get to use this insight? # Reading Method 4-3-2-1 Method Read with a 4 minute timer while underlining with your finger and mark where you stopped Read with a 3 minute timer while underlining with your finger and try to reach mark Then 2 minutes Then 1 minutes See the difference, Resume reading a comfortable speed for 4 minutes then compare words read to first 4 minutes Bad Reading Habits Regression Tendency to go back and reread words in a sentence Fix: Pacer - Finger Subvocalization Saying the words in your head Fix: Count while reading, Your brain will automatically visualize what you're reading Word-by-word reading Fix: Spreed - Speed reading browser extension

What great insight will I get from this book and how can I use this insight? 1. Regression: Use your finger when reading a book on your phone and mouse on the computer as a pacer. This prevents you from rereading 2. Subvocalisation: Don't read in your head but rather imagine the word. Count out loud as you read to practice this. 3. Word by work reading: Read chunks of words at a time. 3 or 5 words at a time. Pace, count, expand Practice 20 minutes every day.

2:20 This ten minutes exercise is somehow not correct, if you are doing it for same pages over and over of course you'll speed your reading and comprehension because you'r reading same words repeatedly, same as when you try to learn anything like driving a car or learning how to play guitar, but in reading books, as you continue reading the words are changing and the ideas, characters, information, depends on what type of book you are reading! try to read 10 pages at 10 minutes timer, then try different 10 pages at 8 minutes timer and so on, you'll see that is impossible to speed up your reading and comprehension with this method! you may get to become fast reader but your comprehension is not because you're filling your memory with new information as you're reading new pages, i think this will be good for reading a story or news something that doesn't require much focus, but it's not accurate for studying or learning books.

Meh. I tried speedreading for a couple of months. I got my speed up to like 50% without losing comprehension, on EASY books. That's fine if you want to read children's books. If you read something that requires you to stop and think for a moment, never mind pause for a few minutes and consider the implications, this is downright counterproductive because it makes you fast-forward through those opportunities without even realizing they were there. And if you're reading quality fiction, it's also counterproductive because there's a rhythm and a poetry to that, and speeding through it reduces the pleasure you extract from the text. tl;dr this is only good for flying through light reading
