This might be the most accurate thing I’ve read all day. The thing I miss most about childhood is how small the world seemed to me. Internet wasn’t as big so the connections were same town, same neighborhood. I also miss Saturday morning cartoons like ABC’s One Saturday Morning and spending the afternoon outside.

I feel like i'm familiar with every exciting thing that life has to offer, both from real life experience and the internet.

95 baby here, and although I was young in that decade I remember my childhood quite well. This music and images take me BACK. my parents still worked the 80s fashion and hair style, we were still in such a retro era ❤ And I can’t help but wonder if nostalgia is a way we connect with childhood memories, if it’s due to how as children we perceived the world through our senses and we’re very in the present. It was lovely to just float along, it was simple, the world was slower, people were more real, and tech didn’t control our lives, and best of all we got to play outside in the trees and on the bikes and go explore the neighbourhood all day long, video games were awesome back then because you didn’t play all the time, and Saturday morning cartoons were always fun to look forward to. I miss the time when things were less convenient, like blockbuster! It was a treat to not have everything at our finger tips, to not be overwhelmed and overstimulated with information always from all over the world. That’s why I think we love this music 🎉

This feels more...bittersweet and melancholy rather than disturbing to me. Like the hidden gaps in your memory have finally been filled, and you remember how happy you were, but also feel sad at how those memories were experienced by a version of you that doesn't exist anymore and will never exist again. And these memories will only become more and more hazy as time goes on, and you can do nothing about it. My eyes actually got a bit watery at the video somehow.

Maybe going to those types of places with a young kid could make it fun again, to watch them experiencing those same things. But I suspect that could also make it a lot more sad as well.

I've been going down nostalgia lane for the last hour, and I live by my childhood elementary school. It makes me feel nostalgic for it - just like I remembered it! me getting older makes me feel I have a story to tell my nephews since they would not know how MY childhood was.

A lot of these photos come from the Cincinnati Mills/Forest fair Mall. It used to have an indoor amusement park in the 90s and 2000s. I immediately recognized the play places and the outside of the amusement park! And the food court with the flying pigs! Thank you for this little nostalgia trip. I think they're going to tear down that mall soon the Bass pro shop was the only major store that was open there and now that move to another location. If you guys ever get a chance to go walk through it it really is a trip through the 90s

Im 1978 here. I feel old but wise . I love life and it is good. Slightly bummed at growing older though but at the same time I feel great.

I appreciate the fact that these seem to be real photos and not "A.I" generated bullshit. Pretty accurate representation of growing up in the '90s.

You know, these scenes gave me an epiphany and, at the same time, peace! Here in my country things are a little more backward than in the rest of the world, so these childhood scenes from the 90s in the USA reminded me of my childhood in the 2000s here, and gave me peace, for a long time I was desperate for my precious and more than beloved childhood was over and I began to become more infantilized and socialize more with children from adolescence to youth to try to stretch my childhood as much as I could because this was my most sacred treasure given how much love my parents and my family gave it to me even though I suffered a lot from bullying and low self-esteem for being fat, but the love of my family, my grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends, all of this made my childhood my treasure more than sacred and knowing that that more than perfect world that I loved so much would come to an end and that it is gradually ending as time goes by and I start to get older being so close to 30 years old, both of my grandfathers have passed away, some of my uncles and cousins too , and that left me terribly down because that world of love that I had in childhood was ending... but when I thought about it I saw that in fact what happened in the past was a miracle in existence and that I should be grateful and happy for that that it happened and that I keep my most sacred childhood memories as my personal treasure and that I lived through it all, was a small miracle in itself! You know when I think about it, do you know how absurdly low the chances of life existing in this universe are? How absurdly low are the chances of intelligent life existing? and not only that, how absurdly low were the chances of mammals surviving and who will say our species' chances of surviving? But despite everything, we are here! we exist! We survived against all odds and on top of that... we were able to provide people with a wonderful childhood and life! think of all the periods of this earth, the periods of our own species, how many periods full of plague, famine and wars they have gone through, how many people have had to go through horrible things in their entire lives and have not had a day of happiness in their lives, but we were here! We lived our childhoods here! in this period of time when we were not deprived of anything, when we had all these wonderful memories from our childhoods to call ours, to be our private treasures! It is such a huge point of inconsistency in the universe that for a fraction of time we had moments as wonderful and magical as our childhoods were... that just having it.....was an unbelievable miracle! just having been happy for a moment in our lives, for years of it, was an inexplicable miracle! We were very blessed to have had the chance to experience something as wonderful as our childhoods were! You know that thing about ''don't cry because it's over but be happy because it happened''? Reflecting on this, I could see what that really meant, that, our memories, our childhood, all the love we had, all the happiness we had, all of it, was a blessing and a miracle so unlikely, that we should be happy that we had the privilege of, for a brief moment, to have experienced such a great and unlikely miracle in the long history of this universe! we had one of the greatest treasures and gifts that this universe could have given us, we must keep it in our memories as a sacred treasure and be happy for being able to have it for a moment, our little paradise, and love the privilege we had for a brief moment, despite all odds, we could have had this wonderful gift!

@@slice2219That's cool; at least that space can be used sometimes. There also used to be a Sears in the mall close to where I live, and while it was replaced by an Overstock furniture store at one point, sadly that too is now gone...

Honestly all this video did was make me pissed off malls are becoming less popular and more and more are closing annually. Forget the nostalgic kiddy stuff -- malls were integral to socializing: hanging out with friends, talking to random strangers and employees, and finding a reason to leave home. A society overtaken by technology in which no one really needs to leave the house anymore is, and mark my words, what will kill us as a race. Things like online shopping, self checkouts, online dating, streaming, social media; make it so that we have no need to communicate with anyone except close friends and immediate family. These trends are also bringing down third spaces (malls, bowling alleys, theaters, bars).

Ive created a photo album of “unused liminal images” that I’ve taken pictures of which haven’t been featured onto my channel yet. It’s already over 300 images so far. I would love to get them out as soon as I can! I’m thinking about making a “random compilation video” to share and post that way I’ll have new images for everyone to enjoy!
