Limenas or Thasos Town is the capital town on the island. The town is very nice, with its new and the old harbor, a large promenade by the sea, a few paved streets within the promenade with many shops, fast-food restaurants, taverns, jewelry shops, bakers. Limenas, compared to Potos and Limenaria, is offering more facilities to tourists, is located on a larger area and a car is required for rides inside the city. Limenas nearest beach is Tarsanas (400m from the new port), a few kilometers away is Nisteri, Papalimani, La Scala (4km), Pachis (10km), Makryammos (2km), Saliara (Marble) beach (6km), Golden Beach (14km).
