Wayne didn't become a true great artist until the Carter 2 album in 05 along with the series 04,05,08 . Wayne first 3 albums were averaged at best. Even the first Carter was averaged in 04. He had some good songs on it but nothing spectacular. 2pac released 6 total albums from 91-96. 4/6 of those albums are critical acclaimed lol. Wayne release 5 studio albums from 00-08 and 2/5 of those albums are critical acclaimed. But he does has his mixtapes during that span too and his features. The impact 2pac left, Lil Wayne was influenced by it. Why you think he said on Mr. Carter song. Don't forget to mentioned him amongst the greats like 2pac when he career is almost done. Wayne isn't a better overall artist than 2pac, he has no versatility in his music like 2pac. 2pac was way more versatile as an rapper/artist. He could talk about anything. Wayne just spit alot of metaphors and punchlines which is great. But he has lil to no substance in his lyrics. Songs like: Trapped, Changes, Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto, Me Against The World, is what separate 2pac from Lol Wayne as an artist He's (Lil Wayne) still a dope artist when he was in his prime. But his discograohy is averaged. 2pac pass away 25yrs ago and he's still being talked about and music is still being played.
