Ken reciting an Uzi song is something i never thought i would see lmao
Great point from Myke and Ken at 21:20. I feel like a lot of the metal references Uzi draws from are seen as "watered down" and "played out" by metal fans, and a lot of people don't wanna see a return to that sound. Like imagine a popular rock band drawing from the ringtone rap era. It could be cool but I'm sure a lot of rap fans wouldn't really be into it.
@hxc4ever301
11 ай бұрын
The metal reference are not hated because of Metal fans not wanting them back, if anything that sound is at its biggest peak in the last 15 years, the problem is that it has no personality whatsoever, Cs is a bad System Of A Down cover and the other 2 feel like they wrote the whole song and told Uzi, here is the part were you rap

@@SuperBreey I'm not saying it's at its peak right now but is talked about more now than it did in 2008-9 when the genre was going down between the older bands shining more than they did in the last decade or so and a lot of new bands with clear influences in Nu Metal like Spiritbox, Architects, Fever 333, Fire From The Gods, Tallah, Bring Me The Horizon in their latest releases, Poppy ,Tetrarch, Ocean Grove, etc...

It makes sense. He probably grew up in the Mall/Scene Kid hot topic era.
All of Myke’s comments are fantastic. Great job separating personal preference from what the album/artist is trying to do or what he might be to kids of particular communities as far as representation and breaking down stereotypes. Also his comment about inappropriate labeling when a rapper is different is spot on. Valid criticism comes with context and Myke is on point throughout.

If u were at the age of 8-15 as a kid during those times you were aware of mixtape Wayne because he ran the radio with his features and remixes and he entered pop culture with tha carta 3 which was released a year before rebirth and no ceilings uzi was old enough and in middle school 😂
…this is the moment that WE (the audience) would see happen…Ken and Feefo switched! Its amazing to see & reminds me of why i enjoy this channel. You dont always agree and there isnt a sense of “you have to agree…OR ELSE)”. Just articulate thoughts from different perspectives…thats it!
Thank you for clarifying the difference in metal Lil Uzi is most likely influenced by Myke. 100% agree.
Feefo is absolutely right about him having influence from Wayne. A lot of these young niggas are Wayne's kids...
It seems like Rico Nasty would be the perfect feature for Uzi Vert. She matches his weirdo black kid energy
Lil Wayne’s Rebirth album definitely left an impact on Uzi and Yachty.
Totally different from what Wayne was doing. Uzi is open about his love and influence of 2000s and 2010s emo music
This is like Rebirth Wayne mixed with Uzi
Didn't expect to see this from y'all. This should be entertaining.

If you watch Lil Wayne’s Prom Queen video off his Rebirth album, you can CLEARLY SEE that Uzi used that album as a blueprint for his career.
that's dope yall be bringing in guest reviewers. would love to see some of battle-rap media give their thoughts, like Jay Blac or Math Hoffa - would be an interesting angle & perspective to the lyricism

I’m surprised the full crew (minus Beezy) reviewed this. Lil Uzi Vert is someone I definitely respect more than I actually like their music. They make challenging music that people can get behind even though I can’t get behind it which is fine

I'm so sick of artists releasing massive albums to farm streams when only half the songs are good. I can't deny that there's an album's worth of good material on her but I hate seeing kids praise this thing because it just encourages artists to keep overloading their albums with a bunch of cutting room floor garbage.

Hadnt listened to the album decided to watch the review and they kept mentioning "suicide doors" so i went to give it a listen and i heard the Wayne influence
How is this channel not at 1 million plus subs yet??? wtf is goin on
I totally get the length of the album (streaming changed the game) but at the same time I wonder how many young people listen to the whole thing considering the "short attention span" In basically all types of media. Whatever, at the end people just want songs for their playlists I guess.

I truly enjoyed the guest's perspective, from a generational standpoint. Being an elder millennial, I can definitely see this being the logical extension of the stupid fruity swag era. I'm quite happy to bump this album up 5 stars, if it gets rereleased just as an instrumental album.
With earphones I didn’t like it so much but playing it in my car I was like yeah I see why people love this
guys we need the first dead end hip hop review of a chino xl album in gods carpenter which dropped last week produced by stu bangas.
Before the vid starts, there were a bunch of bops on this album, only 5 songs I didn’t like( aye,cs, werewolf, of course, shardai, the heavy metal, hell nah, I like punk rock, I’m 31,) because UZi’s core music is just making fun music that’s why he’s in my top 5, after watching the vid , they pretty much did the right thing by saying their too old for this type of sound which is respectable, different sounds come out, if you not able to adjust, you won’t enjoy it
Havent heard the album but what i keep hearing is this is Playboi Cartis doing, cuz he popularized "rage" sound in hiphop, now youngboy is doing it uzi just dropped and we're about to see the underground artists doing this type of mysic bubble up within a few months.
@cyberbron2077

The underground been on that since wlr
Unfortunately This New Wave Of Hip-Hop Is Mainly About The Production/Beats, Lyrics Are The Last thing to come to mind with these artists. i like uzi,carti,travis,etc but the beats r what carries alot of these new “rappers” now. & to be fair i don’t think bar heavy lyrics on these beats would work only because alot of us youngins & some adults r really about “The Vibes” more than anything. mostpits, melodies, & getting high is what’s being pushed by “rappers” & “rap fans” now. they don’t care about lyrics, & being really authentic. i feel like alot of new rappers are spectacles now & only care about the money & what’s the most popular/hot rn. im 23 but old rap felt & seemed like they actually cared about the fucking lyrics and music.
I don't know why I don't put System Of A Down in the same bucket as Korn & Limp Bizkit but I just don't.
Some of these tracks will be crazy in stadiums he know what he be doing uzi but I still like the last album better I don’t even know why they did this review not there type of music

Also myke i think arca helped on suicide doors or at least did the bass
I feel like Uzi creates off of feeling I think he is the epitome of following the vibe (which is okay) and I think the album is okay as a whole but I think if you got the 10-12 hardest songs off that album then it would’ve been a great album to me personally. I’m not the biggest fan of Uzi but I think if he cut it down it would’ve turned an okay album to a “pretty good to great” project for Uzi.
I feel like they have too many biases to be judging modern hip hop. To be fair I hate all new hip hop so it wouldn't be fair for me to judge something I don't like. It seem like they hate everything and just wanna vent on my new music is bad.
The difference between the old people hating this album compared to the youth absolutely loving it shows how much we are evolving 💯
