Kind impressed with how just "ok", or average, his voice is. It just goes to show you it's more about the whole package, all the peices coming together to make a hit song. If anything, it gives hope to a lot of singers and songwriters that think they can't compete because they don't have the vocal talent of Bieber or Grande

We also gotta look on the fact that he probably didn't practice before singing this on GENIUS As a singer (non-professional), before recording on my own gear, I do a lot of warmups, and practicing And I do dozens of takes before rolling with the best one I could do. I believe he also really practiced before recording the actual song, and Autotune and processing is merely for that aesthetic, pleasing sound. On GENIUS he probably just sang how he felt without putting real effort in it, I mean he sang it an octave lower sometimes here.

Tell me, have you ever listened to how autotune's effect comes out? The reason why the genius version sounded different from the studio one is mostly because there's no harmonic voice layering.

Y’all also have to keep in mind that for the interview he’s probs in some random room that does NOT have the same sound quality as a professional recording studio and he clearly has to strain his voice more for it to be picked up on the microphone they’re using for the interview and ppl lose their voice or don’t have time to warm up no one sounds 100% all the time doesn’t mean he isn’t talented
