it's no more difficult than playing an instrument. it takes some time to learn to use the software but the real challenge will be the creative aspect. similarly with an instrument, you can play it and look at notes and play them back but it's much more difficult to have that creative instinct to make new music. it just comes from practice. your first dozen or so attempts at making patterns and simple melodies will not be anything impressive but once you do it enough times you'll get an idea of what sounds good to you and what should come next. you can study music theory to make that more straight forward
