To anyone who's ever felt alone, or struggled to make sense of themselves and their feelings: This one is for you.
"Like Me" is one of the most personal songs I've ever written.
Grappling with existentialism, my sense of self, and isolation wasn't an easy thing to write about, let alone share. But through the process of writing, recording, and sharing this song with others, I've learned that I'm not the only one who's ever felt that way. Not by a long shot.
One of the most shared human experiences is feeling like nobody fully understands what you're going through (ironic, right?). And while it's true that nobody can ever know exactly what goes on in anyone else's mind, everyone has their own version of this story. Most everyone has felt these things in their own way at some point in their life.
With that, I hope this song helps you feel a little more understood, and realize that whatever you're going through, someone else has probably gone through it too. You are not alone. So hold on.
