Go specifically for the guys in blue with the big barrels and the guns as they seem to drop the tins most consistently.
Can port back to the Haunt for a quick, free full heal and enemy respawn.
Equip a Fairy Lei for a high drop chance. Not sure if they stack.

Doing this at chapter 11, can't find any fucking tins. Equipped two Fairy Lei. So fucking stupid to progress-guard weapons. I have the money, the game won't let me fucking upgrade. I hate it.
