This project was an experiment to see how light a telecaster could be if you really tried. The neck is taken as a given, there's not really much opportunity to save weight there anyway - except a titanium truss rod that would save about 50grams. I was quite happy the result. I'll probably do a full build of my own design now based on these methods.
The neck comes off a MIJ guitar that I'd owned since the '90s, but had made a custom neck for previously. I'm more of a 16" radius player, primarily acoustics, and the modern Fender 9.5" feels weird to me. So this neck was lying around unloved by me, and I'll eventually sell this guitar to someone who will play it. I think I'll make one song with it to say goodbye.
