Lightning strike causes large gas explosion in Oxfordshire

A lightning strike caused a large gas explosion at a recycling plant in Oxfordshire on Monday evening.
Video and images shared on social media showed a fireball lighting the sky an orange colour after the incident at the Severn Trent Green Power Plant at Cassington, just off the A40 north of Oxford.
The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the area.
Severn Trent Green Power, a waste management company, confirmed the fire had occurred at its Cassington AD facility, near Yarnton, in a statement posted on Facebook on Monday evening.

From this evidence, we can assume that the mountain of regulations covering the electrical protection of gas and oil installations were dismissed as red tape when and if the question arose with regard to this place. This wasn't just bad luck, otherwise oil refineries all over the world would be going up in flames; it was bad design.

I used to work in a conference centre in England, it was on the top of a hill. We had a lightning strike almost every year, it always killed the fire alarm system and left the whole centre in a danger of fire without alarm. Once the strike was so bad, they couldn't repair it for weeks! Still, they wouldn't install a lightning rod, they said it was too expensive (?!) I could never understand this attitude... it looks to me like sheer stupidity 😳 (They do the same with the snow: they don't have equipment to clean the roads of the snow, they say it doesn't happen often enough. So, they shut the country down instead and wait until the snow melts. Because that doesn't cost a lot...🤔 Living in England has been quite an adventure to me lol)

Did a biogas explosion cut off power to the whole of Oxford? An interesting method arises for converting the energy of an explosion into the energy of an electromagnetic field. For such a lockout of the electric current, lightning had to electronically polarize the hydrocarbon molecules, according to its tabulated electronic polarizability, and through the polarization of the molecules, the mechanical energy of the explosion had to increase the electromagnetic component of the field through the electronic configuration deformation of the density of molecules by a lightning discharge, thereby converting the chemical energy of the explosion into a pulse of an electromagnetic field that knocked out electricity. By the way, these are conclusions according to perturbation theory, electron densities, atomic spin-polarization waves, electronic sound.
