Is it ridiculous to say this is one the best pop songs ever made? I feel like it’s stupid to say that but at the same time I completely believe it. It’s pure magic.

Not ridiculous. My favourite of theirs is their debut Pure in 1989 but Life of Riley was very popular and stands as one of the defining songs of its era. Broudie produced some of the Liverpool bands in the eighties before branching out with his own career.

I prefer his backheel over head, flick ball over two players, side foot pass into net past hapless goalkeeper goal against Newcastle personally. 😉 If Le Tissier were playing today, he'd be worth £200 million and every club in Europe would be after him.

And with the strike of a single chord I’m back in 1992. This song is simply a classic.

They really are murdering this classic. All the top line melody instrumentation has gone, as has Ian Brodie's voice. Where are the strings and accordion?

Needs to do something with his voice or retire, the backing singer is dreadful as well

I do love Ian and Co. But it's so sad when you hear voices degrading due to age like that.

It’s much stronger in a full live setting - this was about 6.30am if I recall believe me my voice isn’t great then either 😂

A quality studio band, not so good live though.
