The way the scene was supposed to play out was that the Sweeps would grapple Magnus’ limbs (leaving him helpless) and then pull him apart. This was hastily changed at the last moment when test audiences felt that it was too brutal.

One of my favorite things about this song is the repeating sound used from the start to about 0:18, then again at 0:41 to 0:50, which while it is part of the music also sounds like an alarm or siren going off, which makes the whole thing seem much more tense.

Oh My Goodness!! So I have been looking for this part of the movie on soundtrack for over 20 years!!! I love the guitar solo when Magnus gets blown apart by the Sweeps!! To the person who finally let my soul rest with this post thank you so much. I Literally can end my 23 year search and pass the torch onto the next generation of G1 Transformers lovers that are coming.
