I have the Tensor mag light and it doesn't matter much when riding, but is noticable when carrying the board. It's like when you are mall grabbing Indy's and you don't want your arm to get tired, you get Tensor Mag Lights

Here's 28 years of skating telling you that Ace's are better than all Indy's. I rode nothing but Indy's for almost a decade straight (only one I haven't skated is the newer 144) skated thunders for 4 years straight, skated a few sets of Ventures, Tensors(old ones) Silver's, royals, tracker, Gullwing, Orion's, World industries(worst ever). 3 years ago I was picking up a new set and they didn't have any Indy's in my size so I said, "I guess I'll wait" ,but the owner of the shop said, "you might want to try Ace's" I said, " Indy's only, you know that better than anyone" He held up his set up(with Ace's) from behind the counter and said, "Indy's never again. I absolutely LOVE these fuckin' things" He was the guy who stopped me from buying another set of Thunders and suggested Indy's by saying "Here's 36 years of skating experience telling you you'll like Indy''s more" I thought "he was right then about the Indy's, so why wouldn't he be right now about the Ace's?" I asked, "what if I hate'em?" he said, " bring'em back and I'll swap'em out for some Indy's when they get here a day and a 1/2 from now" I put them on and within 10 feet of rolling, I had and orgasm. Not really of coarse, but my point is that 99.99% of everyone that says "Independent for life" are only confident in saying that because they haven't tried Ace's yet. I'm sure there at least a few skaters out there that won't like Ace's more(probably because of the way they look) but time and time again I see this EXACT sentiment play out with ppl who've been skating for over 20 years. FYI: Ace is basically an Indy stage 3 with wider hangers. ...which is why most every Indy lover will love Ace's more. Everything that makes an Independent truck awesome is approved upon in the Ace's. Try'em, I dare you.

Grind Kings were the only truck I would skate as a kid. Loved them, and honestly I never did any real research into their weight, I just felt like they were light. Orion’s and Tensors were also thought to be light. Tensors I wouldn’t skate because I never had good luck with the kingpins and the kingpins stuck out and hit whatever you were grinding.

Have you tried Krux Down low kingpin?

I rode indys and Gullwings 159mm for more than 3 decades on bowls and street. 3 months ago I bought a set of tensor mag lights 149mm all terrain geometry expecting the worst of them but amazingly these trucks have a better performance, they grind like if every coping were waxed, it took me about a month to brake in the bushings and find out the perfect torque for a bowl setup but now I'm not going back to heavy Indys until these tensors fail me ! I will let you know wen that happens ! Thank you Rodney for taking a weight out of my board and my back ha ha ha

Hello broo! I'm riding the same tensor 149mm on bowl and half pipes and they turn and grind great! I change to creature bushings the green ones(soft), my set-up: flight deck 8.5 ,bones wheels 58m spf, bones bearings, 1/4" pig risers, grizzly grip,Thunder hardware. And I like Corona and Michelob og. Ha ha cheers !

Also riding Mag Light Lo 5.25 and 5.5 (on 8.18 and 8.25 respectively); 1/8” riser on street, 1/4” riser on bowl deck; heavier dude @ 200 lbs riding rattle loose, after much trial and error rec’d a novel tip that’s outside the box but quite effective: hard 100 longboard barrel bushing on bottom, bones hard conical on top (or your choice of top bushing to remain agile without wheelbite).

I got the standard indy and venture v-hollow (high not the low, i hate the low) and really like both, i try the 2 trucks on every board i got to see the difference. Some board i prefer the venture and some the indy and for the weight , i think a heavier board feel just give more pop like some people said! Maybe the shape of the board will help more to have a easier flick?than the weight of the trucks.

Mag lights are the way to go, they grind good to.

Tensor commercial, what really surprised me were the thunders in some way, my regular 129's are probably somewhere around 13

i have tensor magnesiums, not the tensor magnesium lights. mine aren’t hollow axle or kingpin and the lights are both. not sure the weight difference that makes or even if its that noticable

I know they may not be on the market anymore, but what about grindking trucks?

You guys should do one with decks of same with (say 8”) but different contractions like R7, impact light, lowpro, etc

Legend has it that Arnold Schwarzenegger lifts Indy standard trucks to train his muscles.

Final results go to 3:25

Indy for all around performance and durability; ace for sick carves. Just wish the pivot cups would hold up a bit longer on the aces

I've had both hollow thunder lights and several tensor magnesiums and I would have to go with the thunder just because the bushings are crap in tensors and they get torn really easily. How? Idk but that's just a reoccurring issue I had with them. Anyways, they are both really light and I've tracked hundreds of miles on both

just ordered thunder titanium lights 3 in an effort to piece together the most premium christmas complete I can dream of. Each cheque ive been buying a new piece of the set up i cant wait to get it done but for now im riding my forged hollow chris joslin indys with bones wheels and chris cole deck :D

They aren't that bad. I don't know about the new design, but the previous ones were durable and lasted as long as any other truck. The only thing that I didn't like about the old version was that the bushings were very stiff and made it hard to do sharp turns. I got rid of that issue by boiling the bushings for 10 minutes and that made the bushings softrr and very pleasant when turning.

Dali Skates mines were to soft for me and they didn’t handle other bushings well. Granted they were light but I don’t think their for skaters who weigh almost 200lbs lol 😂

You can't beat thunder. Their trucks aren't too light, you need some heaviness in your setup to get the most pop possible surprisingly

What about Tracker trucks? They used to be a thing back in the 80s. I see they have a website and you can still buy them, but, skate shops don't seem to carry them anymore? I put a set of magnesium base plates on my ace low 03's and they weigh less than mag lights FYI. And I get to turn 😜 Used a scale cause it was close but forget the actual numbers

I have both the Indy Titanium And the Tensor Mag 10 light the Indy while heavier is 10x better. You need that weight to feel the board and pop higher in my opinion. By no means are the Titanium’s heavy as they are Independent’s lightest. Thunders suck in my opinion too sharp a turn, I have been thrown because of it, great for those who love loose trucks. Independent just turns like no other and are the strongest trucks ever. That said Avenue trucks are probably my second favorite their new version should help when the the nasty wheelbites I tend to get from them.

That’s actually good advice. Agree about Indy Titanium vs Mag Light-although I have the version after Mag 10 (pre ATG), which has improved. Lightening the board is useful up to a certain point, then it’s diminishing returns. Your legs may not get as tired but you’re not going pop any higher as you keep going down. I don’t really want a pivot a coping on the maglight, but you can mash your Indy’s into it

No one get thunder hollow, the hollow adds risk of your kingpin snapping it happens if you do stairs or drops

I had a pair of tensor mags back when I was just a little shrimp and I snapped them. I was only like 90 pounds at the time and didn’t even skate big shit😂

Mag Lights are way better now. I’m just over 200 lbs and the new ones do not bend or break, grind buttery smooth, although I hesitate grinding coping due to higher kingpin-you can now get the ATG with the lowered kingpin, apparently they been blessed by Jesus

would you recommend venture v-hollows or thunder standards? also thank you for shipping my new deck very quickly, my old deck was getting delaminated so my new one came just in time thanks to skate warehouse

What has happened to Tracker Trucks? Are they not producing trucks any longer? I have tried to contact them, but they don't reply. And I sent them back a faulty Tracker Axis base, but never received a replacement.

Walmart has some darn good trucks. They have some plastic ones that are really light.

Bullets are the best bang for your buck.

I skate ACE AF1s, average weight but I've never skated anything better including mag lights and titanium.

I think they're right around 9.6oz? I have the mag lights too and they're slightly lighter. Ti lites are in between the mag lights and thunder titanium lights.
