Lightest Police Handcuffs
The asp model 150's are the lightest resusable (non-zip cuffs) I've ever seen, and that's saying something. I received this pair from Shieldbox, which is a law enforcement subscription service that sends cool tactical gear to your home for a monthly fee. @@freefieldtraining Looks like the Amazon product photos and model numbers don’t correspond because there’s no 150 up there. I’ll look up the asp sku to see which to order. Thanks, be safe!
Wow! But, do they have that “getting off track problem” discussed in other videos? - I love the YT short! Thank you for all of your content!! - Sincerely, a Security Field Service Supervisor!

They do not. The frame looks to be a solid aluminum, not polymer wrapped.

@@freefieldtraining I just got a pair of the ASP Ultra hinged with aluminum bow. They still are able to shift enough for the bow to bind up on the side of the main cuff body. I was pretty disappointed because I thought that issue was resolved.
Peerless 730c superlites are the ones to use for light weight. Asp are to bulky and not compatible with standard handcuff pouches..
The Peerless are lighter and will still fit in standard cases. I have 2 pairs but the key post came out in both sets of the Peerless twice actually after they were repaired by Peerless. That was when they first came out so not sure if they fixed the issue. On the other hand ASP handcuffs are not approved at my agency due to a huge number of issues with the cuffs. Plus the size, needing a larger case is another con for those ASP's.
My peerless ones are 5oz…

Those look so amazing black is one of my favorite colors. I know a friend who likes those.
I went to an escape room with 5 of my friend's and there was a rail on the wall with 10 pairs of reals steel handcuffs (the key was in a smaller pipe just above it) and one of my friend's handcuff jammed so we undid the one attached to the rail and he had to wander around with tight handcuffs for an hour
Wow. That's light. Wish we had those back in the day.
Those have been through some hell
Peerless Super Lites are 5.2 oz I think.

@@freefieldtraining they sure do. I have a couple of sets of them that I use regularly. All of my ASP cuffs just hang out in my duty bag these days lol.

I'll have to take a look. Thanks!
I'll stick with my peerless superlites. Lighter than these
Nice ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain, every little bit of weigh off helps.

and now try Peerless ultralight... ;-)
Peerless 730c and TCH 900 are lighter than these. Peerless 730c are 5.2 ounces and feel like toys.
In comparison to steal handcuffs, are ASP reliable? I worry because sometimes detainees are with you, and back up is 25 to 30 min away. So do you trust them ?
Leo's have had hip problems over the years for all the weight on the hips. It would be cool to see every thing go light weight robo cop style stuff.
I used sw hinge cuffs. That being said I was doing fugitive recovery and if you acted a fool enough that I had to cuff you well you won your prize
Try Peerless 730C, they are even lighter.
I read somewhere the cuffs melted after left in the unit..lol

If you meant the old polymer overmold, unless a Glock would have melted in a cruiser, then the ASP cuffs would not have. It was ordinance grade polymer overmold. If you are talking about the forged aluminum, if your patrol rifle lower receiver would melt then the cuff would too.
Smith & Wesson model 926 from the 70's are 3.5oz. I dare anyone to find a lighter secure NIJ rated handcuff than 100 grams aka 3.5oz. S&W wins.
"Lightest Police Handcuffs" - this is not true. Take a look for S&W lightweight handcuffs. Only 100 gramms! ~3oz.

According to the latest Smith and wesson catalog their lightest current production Handcuff is 10oz. I think the legacy lightweight models have been discontinued.
