Light Rail Comes to Raccoon City | Transport Fever 2 Mainline #22

Ойындар

As much as the freight mainline will be a single continuous line this isn't the case with passengers. This means that some creative solutions will be needed to link different lines together, and the first to be on the receiving end is the gap between Raccoon City and Rapture which is just about the right length for a light rail service. Super!
Welcome aboard the Transport Fever 2 Mainline.
***********
Behold! While some may describe this section of the video as the link graveyard, I offer you treasures, delights and mischief. This section of the description rarely changes, except when it does (*).
Okay, that's a total lie, it's a link graveyard. It is however delivered with the kind of panache you have come to expect.
Why is any of this interesting? Because I try to make the nonsense that occurs behind each of these links worth your while. You can trust me. No reason is offered why you can trust me, just know that you can.
Let's do the commercial gubbins first. Anything you procure from the below will help out the channel, although I might spend some of the kickbacks I get on "projects". If any of these projects see the light of day, you'll be the first to know.
Would you like a personal video? Maybe you fancy sponsoring the outro, sending a birthday message, life tips or buying a video? Get yourself to the Wisio! www.wisio.com/Colonel_Failure
Perchance you would care for some merchandise? Only the very best will do for the Colonel's table! freshmerch.fm/collections/col...
If you'd like to support the channel and get some rather magical bonus videos, access to the lunacy of the Discord channel and more offers to play games than sticks should be shaken at. More importantly you'll be part of the last emergency service - The Fail Brigade. Zesty! Two ways to get with the program-
Option 1 (several different tiers available): Patreon - / colonelfailure
Option 2 (one size-fits all): KZread - kzread.info...
Last but not least, if you want to know my current "rig" (that's what we young people call it) consists of visit the ole Amazon storefront where I will tempt you with things, all of which I do not regret using my own personal pocket money on: www.amazon.co.uk/shop/colonel...
Let us move on from tales of commerce to things more fun-loving.
Do you want to follow a Twitter account that is actually cheerful? Not in the kind of way that offers life-affirming, inspirational text with a waterfall in the background, but in a jolly, acerbic kind of way? Follow me on Twitter. That's what I do. I almost never shill my latest video entertainment. / cnlfailure
Do you want to know what videos are coming up each week? A few people do. I don't always get around to publishing the schedule, but when I do, I do it on Facebook. Not sure why I chose Facebook, but there you are. / cnlfailure
Okay, you've made it. You clicked at least two links, now get your reward.
(*) - Today's secret: Proper light rail would be great, but I'm happy enough using trams as an alternative.

Always thought given how many mountains you can often get in transport fever how narrow guage mountain railways would be a nice dlc for the game. They may mostly be tourist lines these days but they used to be serious industrial transport systems in their hayday. In some parts of the world they still are.

A century ago we had "interurbans" which were basically that same idea, with the rails running right alongside the highway. From pictures I think they were between tram and rail passenger coach in size.

1:30 "The most significant thing arrived in 1912 is the Bens Truck" - imagine view of history from railroad engineer perspective. Dates when wars started , famines , diseases , political turmoil ? Dont care about that , no sir. The first commercial diesel locomotive going live or electrified rail built - that the dates defining history !

I would like to let you know that when you make a line for trams, it will automatically adjust to the tracks once trams are placed on the line, no need for waypoints good sir. If it doesn’t, waypoints are helpful. Lol loved the tram stop bulldoze a building! That laugh was so good!

I know this is a couple days old, but maybe you haven't noticed it yet... as you were looking over the profit sheet near the end of the episode, two Moscow trams went from Rapture to Raccoon City on your Light Rail line, @40:50 . Thought you put the faster blue trams there so not sure what was going on???

Colonel, couldn't you press shift while setting the track slope? It wouldn't create such dips and canyons as occured between Gotham and Raccoon City. I know it's a bit tedious, but it will look better in the end...

I think it was last episode it was mentioned that he was only going to 1950. Any particular reason why? Is it because it'll be the100 year mark or because of other factors?

Its not exactly the same thing, but Bus lanes on a single lane country road will allow you to run trams/busses only. Not sure if Bus lanes are a thing for you tho yet, sorry.

I agree with the grand Colonel here. Vanilla game features more than a sufficient amount of vehicles and opportunities to learn how to get to grips with the basic, and not so basic fundamentals of the game. Once you have the game outlined, swing by the workshop to see what gets your fancy
