These lenses have the "Cooke look" for sure! At 1/3 the price of a beat-up Speed Panchro, these are a great manual focus option for still and video folks alike!

Great, now we need a Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2 ASPH vs Light Lens Lab 50mm f/1.2 ASPH "1966" comparison :-)

Thanks for the review of a copy of a lens from a great original maker. I have a Cooke Amotal which acts the same way. That lovely glow when open wide but still with accuracy.

Hi Kevin. Thanks for the great review. Swayed me to get a copy myself! Been playing around with my lens and I noticed something odd. Not sure if it's my copy or if it is normal as they say. If you go above f8 I notice a blue haze in the center of the frame? I reached out to Light Lens and this is what they told me: This is a normal phenomenon with original SPII as the internal reflection has caused the lens to have diffraction under low T-Stops. It is advise to not shoot SPII under F8. It was only very recently that we discovered this phenomenon. Either our production and distribution network was not aware of this phenomenon due to the lens usually being shot under f/8. Do you get this haze on your lens over f8? Thanks Kevin!

Are these M mount versions rangefinder coupled? Does the Leica sense the focal length to set the frame lines correctly? Thank you in advance!
