I prefer canteens and cups over camelbak because they are more durable. They also add redundancy by being more containers that can break while still maintaining water storage capability. I carry 2 canteens and 2 cups with 1 stove on lbv, 2 1 qt on pack and 1 2qt on pack. Gallon and a half of water. I can stretch that to 3 days easily and I also have a sawyer and potable aqua or katadyn tabs. That can stretch me out pretty much indefinitely. Water is an incredibly important resource so I don't take chances.

Thanks. What is the low temp floor you have had good luck with canteens? How cold can they go? Thinking back I used metal canteens for cold weather. Both the GI cold canteens and like Klean Kanteen insulated bottles or whatever. Thanks again.

I used them in negative 40. But I crammed them in a pocket.

Have had good luck with low temp floor. My canteen meets grade well good and forgive the script! My golden breach form my building and formatter they do for form they take forgive the melt for ham and cheese do forgive and bot are here try to talk in code because the pys op shit don’t worry ! They just want breach morph job slave don’t worry

Its Best too buy a new canteen than buying a surplus canteen due to tobacco and all the other stuff inside the canteen.

If you buy them new, you still need to clean them anyways with bleach. When I was issued them new it was required anyways. Nothing safe about it. Also a cleaning process for camelback too. Dont kid yourself

You have a point in cleaning canteens even if they’re New. When I bought my first four canteens I used soap and water but sense you have more experience with canteens than me then I should ask is it a good idea to clean canteen with soap and water.

No....it will leave a film that scum will stick to. Just use bleach and flush. I said how in the video
